Trade unions practically care for and attract workers

According to the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ), from the beginning of 2026 to now, union member development has achieved positive results when newly admitting 19,379 people, reaching 129% of the target, showing the attractiveness of the Trade Union organization.

That attraction is shown through the practical sharing of employees at the enterprise. Like the case of Ms. Le Cam Hong, a worker at Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. who joined the Trade Union organization from April 2026, after a month of working.

Ms. Hong shared: "The Trade Union not only coordinates with the company to ensure salary benefits and overtime hours in accordance with regulations, but also cares for spiritual life. Quarterly birthday programs, sports festivals, and karaoke competitions are very warm.

Sharing that belief, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan, a worker at Ty Bach Co., Ltd., also actively joined the Trade Union organization. He said that the public companionship and support of the Trade Union has created a solid support for workers.

As a wounded soldier's son, on July 27, Mr. Nhan was visited and presented with gifts by the Trade Union, thereby feeling the organization's practical concern, sharing and encouragement for workers and their families.

In addition to care work, labor law information is diversely conveyed through the internal loudspeaker system and fanpage. Thanks to that, workers improve their understanding, feel secure in competing in production, and become more attached to businesses and trade union organizations.

Closeness, companionship and practical care help workers understand the role of the Trade Union, voluntarily join, gain more trust and attachment, contributing to building harmonious and progressive labor relations," Mr. Nhan added.

Exceeding many targets in the first 9 months of the year

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that in the first 9 months of 2026, the Provincial Trade Union achieved many outstanding results in developing union members, caring for and protecting the rights of workers.

In 2026, the Provincial Labor Federation will supervise the implementation of labor policies and laws at 10 enterprises, completed in August; and at the same time criticize the draft Resolution on supporting preschool children who are children of workers and preschool teachers in areas with industrial parks.

Housing care for workers is also being concerned. The social housing project in Giao Long Industrial Park is expected to be put into use in the third quarter of 2027. At the same time, it is proposed that the Provincial Party Committee and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor invest in social housing in Long Duc Industrial Park. Activities to care for children of wounded soldiers and martyrs during holidays, Tet and War Invalids and Martyrs' Day continue to be implemented.

Regarding organizational development, the whole province admitted 19,379 new union members, reaching 129% of the target assigned by the General Confederation; established 55 grassroots trade unions, reaching 110% of the annual plan. Grassroots trade unions introduced 673 outstanding union members for the Party to consider and admit, reaching 100.89% of the target.

The "Creative Labor" emulation movement recorded 44 individuals receiving Creative Labor Certificates, reaching 220% of the plan; 549 initiatives were recognized, reaching 274.5% of the target.

Trade union financial work has revenue exceeding the 9-month estimate. Digital transformation continues to be promoted through digital signatures, online meetings, artificial intelligence applications and media channels attracting more than 1.1 million views.

In the coming time, the Provincial Labor Federation will continue to develop union members, improve the quality of collective labor agreements, strengthen supervision and better care for the lives of workers," Mr. Phuc Linh added.
