Over 51,000 Lao Cai union members are propagated to prevent and combat drugs
Lao Cai - From propaganda conferences to "Doanh nghiệp không ma túy" models, trade union organizations bring prevention work closer to workers.
Implementing the policy of building "drug-free communes and wards", the Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union focuses on bringing drug prevention and control content to industrial parks, businesses and places with a large concentration of workers.
The content of propaganda focuses on disseminating the harms of drugs, legal regulations and how to identify tricks to lure and seduce drug use.
According to statistics from the beginning of the year to date, trade union levels have organized 602 propaganda sessions on drug prevention and control and building "drug-free communes and wards", attracting over 51,000 turns of trade union officials, union members, and workers to participate.
In which, 54 direct propaganda conferences were organized with the coordination of the Police force, attracting 7,300 participants.
Over 30,000 union members have signed commitments to comply with the law and not participate in violations related to drugs.

In addition, 372 grassroots trade unions coordinated with functional forces to organize drug inspections and tests for 16,010 union members and workers.
Trade union levels also built and maintained 23 drug prevention and control models, typically such as "Trade Union Accompanying - for union members and workers without drugs", "Doanh nghiệp không ma túy", "Cổng đoàn cơ sở without drugs".
Major Nguyen Van Thanh, officer of the Economic Security Department, Lao Cai Provincial Police, said that industrial parks concentrate many workers, so drug prevention and control work needs to be deployed regularly and proactively from the grassroots level.
The coordination between the police force, trade union organizations and businesses is important in raising awareness, promptly detecting and preventing the risk of social evils.

Mr. Phan Huy Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation, Head of the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Lao Cai province, also shared that propaganda work needs to have appropriate forms, be easy to access and close to reality.
At the same time, it is necessary to link drug prevention and control with caring for material and spiritual life, helping workers feel secure at work, and building a safe and healthy working environment.
Through practical activities, the Lao Cai Provincial Trade Union organization continues to raise self-prevention awareness among union members and workers, contributing to preventing drugs from entering businesses and joining hands in implementing the goal of building "drug-free communes and wards".
