Disseminating laws at enterprises helps workers in Son La raise awareness, prevent violations and protect legitimate rights.

Over the past time, the Son La Provincial Labor Federation has coordinated with the Provincial Police and Provincial Social Insurance to organize knowledge dissemination for nearly 300 union members and workers at BHL Agricultural Products Processing Joint Stock Company, Yen Chau Shoe Joint Stock Company and Son La Toys Co., Ltd.

The content focuses on drug prevention and control, identifying the tricks of criminals and the consequences of drug use. Workers also learn about regulations on social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance; sickness, maternity, retirement, death benefits and procedures for resolving insurance benefits.

Ms. Thai Thi Mai - Vice President of the Son La Provincial Labor Federation said that disseminating information directly at enterprises helps workers better understand relevant regulations and policies. Coordination with specialized agencies also creates conditions to answer difficulties in the process of participating and enjoying insurance benefits.

According to Major Vi Xuan Hung, Deputy Head of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Son La Provincial Police, updating information about crimes, especially drug crimes, helps workers identify risks, be vigilant against acts of seduction and enticement, proactively prevent and comply with the law.

Ms. Lo Thi Tien, a worker at Son La Toy Co., Ltd., Chieng Mung commune, shared that the dissemination sessions help her improve her knowledge of crime prevention, better understand insurance policies and get answers to outstanding issues.

Yen Chau Shoe Joint Stock Company, Yen Chau commune, currently has over 600 employees, including 400 trade union members.

Mr. Pham Quang Thang, Chairman of the company's grassroots Trade Union, assessed that dissemination activities help workers better understand their rights and labor obligations, insurance policies and crime prevention and control. The Trade Union also receives opinions and aspirations to reflect and propose solutions to issues related to workers' rights.

Son La province currently has over 4,900 operating enterprises, with more than 60,200 direct production and business workers. The Provincial Labor Federation manages and directs 196 grassroots trade unions with nearly 14,700 union members and workers. The large labor scale raises the requirement to maintain regular dissemination of laws, suitable to the characteristics of each enterprise.

Workers work in shifts, so they do not always have the conditions to participate in centralized activities. Therefore, the content of propaganda needs to be concise and easy to understand, focusing on insurance benefits, procedures for enjoying benefits and how to prevent the risk of being drawn into violations. Situations close to the working environment will help workers easily receive and apply them.

In addition to direct exchange, the trade union can provide documents and search instructions on digital platforms for workers to proactively learn about. Grassroots trade unions need to grasp problems, coordinate with specialized agencies to provide timely answers, and limit the situation of workers lacking information when carrying out procedures or protecting their rights.

In the coming time, Son La trade union levels will continue to innovate the content and forms of knowledge dissemination, striving for 100% of union members and workers to have access to information on laws and related policies. Thereby, contributing to raising awareness of law compliance, protecting legitimate rights and interests and building harmonious and stable labor relations at enterprises.
