Propaganda and mobilization to establish combined grassroots trade unions in Hai Phong

The conference was attended by business owners and cooperative directors from Tien Lang, Quyet Thang, Tan Minh, Tien Minh, Chan Hung and Hung Thang communes.

At the conference, delegates focused on exchanging views on union member development, establishment of grassroots trade unions, combined grassroots trade union models and the implementation of trade union contributions according to regulations.

With an open and frank spirit, the Tien Lang Commune Trade Union directly listened to and answered the difficulties of businesses, while clarifying the role and functions of the Trade Union organization, the rights and responsibilities of employers and employees in the process of establishing and operating trade unions.

Through the conference, the Tien Lang Commune Trade Union wishes to raise awareness and strengthen the coordination of employers in developing union members and establishing Trade Union organizations; thereby expanding the gathering of workers, caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers.

Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Chairwoman of Tien Lang Commune Trade Union - said that immediately after the conference, 3 enterprises registered to establish grassroots trade unions. Some small-scale enterprises with fewer than 5 employees also registered to participate in the combined grassroots trade union model. This result initially shows a positive change in awareness and consensus of enterprises on the establishment of trade union organizations. This is also the basis for Tien Lang Commune Trade Union to continue to promote propaganda, mobilization, and development of union members, gradually expand the network of grassroots trade unions, improve the effectiveness of representing, caring for and protecting workers in the area.
