Hai Phong expands technical innovation playground, awarding first prize of 40 million VND

Hai Phong currently has a large team of intellectuals, many central research institutes and more than 10 universities and colleges. In addition, more than 50,000 businesses operating inside and outside industrial parks with a large force of technical staff and workers are an important resource to discover and promote initiatives and technical improvements.

The reality of previous competitions shows that the technical innovation movement is increasingly being concerned. In 2025, the 5th Competition attracted a total of nearly 250 participating solutions. Through 5 editions, nearly 10 solutions selected to participate in the National Technical Innovation Contest and the Vietnam Science and Technology Innovation Award have won prizes, affirming the practical value of initiatives and technical solutions discovered and developed from the grassroots level.

The 6th contest is co-organized by the Hai Phong City Union of Science and Technology Associations in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology, the City Labor Federation and the City Farmers' Association. 6 participating fields include: information technology, electronics, telecommunications; mechanics, automation, construction, transportation; materials, chemicals, energy; agriculture, forestry, fishery, natural resources and environment; medicine and pharmaceuticals; education and training. The participating solutions must be new, creative, technically effective, socio-economic and applicable to practice in the city.

According to regulations, each field has a maximum of 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and 6 Consolation Prizes. The corresponding prizes are 40 million VND, 32 million VND, 24 million VND and 8 million VND. In addition, the Organizing Committee will mobilize organizations, businesses, and individuals to sponsor sub-prizes to encourage authors with typical creative solutions. Authors and groups of authors who win high prizes have the opportunity to be selected to participate in national-level contests and awards and will be considered for commendation according to regulations.

The deadline for receiving city-level exam applications is until the end of April 15, 2027. The judging work is expected to take place from April 16 to June 30, 2027; the summary and award ceremony are expected in September 2027.
