Launching emulation to build Quang Trach II LNG Thermal Power Plant

Quang Trach II LNG Thermal Power Plant has a capacity of 1,612 MW (2 units) with a total investment of 52,490 billion VND for the entire project, is one of the energy projects with large investment scale, which is of great significance for supplementing power sources for the national power system in the coming years.

Quang Trach II LNG, implemented by the PowerChina and Lilama consortium, is an important power source project for the national power system, contributing to improving power supply capacity, ensuring energy security and promoting the energy transition towards a greener direction. The project is also expected to create momentum for socio-economic development of the locality and the whole country.

Based on Plan No. 74/KH-TLĐ-EVN on launching a emulation movement to accelerate the investment and construction progress of key projects, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union coordinated with EVN to launch a emulation movement to link and build Quang Trach II LNG Thermal Power Plant.

On behalf of the Emulation Council, Mr. Do Duc Hung - Chairman of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union - launched a movement with the theme: "Accelerating construction, maintaining safety, ensuring quality, determined to reach the finish line".

The movement is aimed at collectives and individuals belonging to the investor, Power Project Management Board 2, contractors, consulting units and units directly involved in the construction of the project.

To make the movement effective and practical, Mr. Do Duc Hung requested units to strengthen coordination, proactively remove difficulties, mobilize and effectively use human resources, machinery, and equipment; and at the same time concretize the emulation content according to each stage, bidding package and item, associated with the responsibility of each collective and individual.

Units need to promote the movement "Good labor, creative labor", encourage officials, engineers, workers and laborers to research, propose initiatives, technical improvements, and rationalize production.

The application of technical advances aims to improve labor productivity, save resources, shorten construction time while still ensuring quality and investment efficiency.

Along with the task of accelerating progress, occupational safety and health and environmental protection must be put first. Units need to strictly implement regulations on occupational safety, fire and explosion prevention, strengthen inspection and proactively identify and prevent unsafe risks.

The role of the safety and hygiene network also needs to be promoted, raising workers' awareness of complying with regulations, minimizing accidents and incidents due to subjective causes.

Another important content is taking care of life, ensuring the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers. Trade unions need to coordinate with professional departments and contractors to improve working and living conditions, pay attention to the health of construction forces; fully implement salary, bonus, overtime and benefits according to regulations. Cases with difficult circumstances need to be grasped, visited and supported promptly.

According to the plan, the Power Project Management Board 2 and the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union will perform the task of standing for the movement at the construction site, coordinating with contractors to organize the signing of emulation agreements, inspection, evaluation of results and propose rewards.

EVN and the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union will consider rewarding according to their authority, and at the same time propose to competent authorities to commend collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Mr. Do Duc Hung called on trade union levels, investors, contractors, consulting units and all officials, engineers, workers and laborers to promote the spirit of solidarity, responsibility, creativity, and concretize emulation determination with practical actions.
