Can Tho Trade Union commends typical examples of "Good at state affairs, good at housework
Can Tho - In the afternoon of October 20th, the City Labor Federation commended outstanding collectives and individuals in the emulation movement "Good at state affairs, good at housework" in the 2021–2025 period.
On the afternoon of October 20th, the Can Tho City Labor Federation organized a Conference to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 – October 20, 2026). At the same time, summarizing 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 6b/NQ-BCH of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on mobilizing female workers, civil servants, and laborers in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization of the country.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation emphasized that in the revolutionary cause, Vietnamese women have promoted the tradition of "Heroic, indomitable, loyal, and capable", making great contributions in all fields.
In peacetime, generations of women continue to affirm their capacity, intelligence, bravery and aspiration to contribute. Both actively working, studying, participating in social management, and nurturing family happiness, raising children, preserving the good values of the nation.
Regarding the Trade Union organization, the Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation clearly stated that female union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers are an important part of the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union organization.
Women not only directly create material wealth, contribute to productivity, quality, and work efficiency, but are also an active force in patriotic emulation movements, social activities, building cultural, civilized, and progressive agencies, units, and businesses," Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai emphasized.
Chairman of Can Tho City Labor Federation said that after 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 6b/NQ-BCH of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, the work of mobilizing female workers, civil servants, and laborers has achieved many positive results, contributing to raising awareness about gender equality, affirming the role and position of women and improving the quality of Trade Union activities.
Recognizing the outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Good at state affairs, good at housework" in the 2021-2025 period, the Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation decided to commend and reward 3 collectives and 17 outstanding individuals who have made many positive contributions to the movement.
On this occasion, the Can Tho City Labor Federation also summarized and awarded prizes to two contests organized in 2026, including the beautiful photo contest "Women's Moments" and the Video and Clip Creativity Contest "Prevention and Control of Tobacco Harms".
As of May 31, 2026, the Can Tho City Labor Federation manages 848 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) and grassroots trade unions with 143,789 workers and employees; of which, there are 66,361 women (accounting for 46.15%). Some female labor occupations account for a high proportion such as: Seafood processing, garment, footwear; education and healthcare.
