Can Tho Trade Union develops more than 1,800 union members in Q3/2026

On October 8th, the Can Tho City Labor Federation organized a conference to summarize Trade Union activities in the third quarter of 2026 and deploy tasks for the fourth quarter of 2026.

In the third quarter of 2026, the work of caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers was implemented by the city's Trade Union levels with many practical activities.

The Can Tho City Labor Federation organized the "Workers' Health Day - For a Healthy Vietnam 2026" program, celebrating the success of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, term 2026 - 2031. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 100 gifts, worth a total of 100 million VND, to workers and laborers in difficult circumstances and at worker dormitories.

The "Trade Union Meal" program was organized by 4 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) with meal prices higher than usual, attracting more than 1,000 workers and laborers to participate.

In the quarter, city-level Trade Unions focused on consolidating organizations, developing union members, and improving the quality of grassroots trade union activities. The City Labor Federation established 47 new grassroots trade unions, with more than 1,800 union members; continued to arrange and consolidate organizations and officials.

Notably, the Trade Union has participated in grasping the situation at enterprises, inspecting occupational safety and health, and supporting the handling of a number of cases arising in labor relations. This shows that the representative role of the Trade Union is increasingly having to go into specific and practical issues of workers.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, City Party Committee Member, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, Chairwoman of the City Labor Federation - emphasized that the fourth quarter is a decisive time to complete the tasks of 2026.

Accordingly, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai requested the entire system to focus on completing the targets for 2026, especially the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions.

At the same time, Trade Union levels need to proactively care for and protect the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers from an early stage; prepare early activities to care for the Dinh Mui Lunar New Year 2027; improve the quality of propaganda and women's work, grasp thoughts and public opinion among union members and workers.

In addition, promote emulation movements, link digital transformation with practical efficiency; strengthen strict financial and asset management, and effectively exploit trade union resources.

On this occasion, the Can Tho City Labor Federation and Delta Logistics Joint Stock Company signed a cooperation agreement on the Welfare Program for Trade Union Members. Accordingly, Delta Logistics Joint Stock Company provides milk and nutritional products, prioritizing the Vinamilk brand; applies appropriate price policies, discounts, and incentives and supports equivalent to 4% of actual revenue generated from the program to supplement resources to care for union members and workers.
