Can Tho Trade Union organizes cooking contest to celebrate Vietnamese Women's Day

On the afternoon of October 19, the grassroots Trade Union of the Can Tho City Labor Federation (LDF) held a meeting to celebrate the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 – October 20, 2026), the 16th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 2010 – October 20, 2026), combined with organizing birthdays for union members who have birthdays in the fourth quarter of 2026.

At the meeting, union members and workers also participated in a cooking contest with the participation of Trade Union Groups directly under the Trade Union of Can Tho City Labor Federation. The activity created a joyful atmosphere, contributing to strengthening exchanges and connections between union members and workers in the agency.

Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Kieu - Chairwoman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Can Tho City Labor Federation emphasized the role and important contributions of Vietnamese women throughout the nation's history, from the cause of fighting for independence to the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Kieu, the image of Vietnamese women with noble qualities of "heroic, indomitable, loyal, and capable" has become a beautiful symbol of patriotism, sacrifice, resilience and the spirit of overcoming difficulties.

In the period of renovation and integration, Vietnamese women continue to affirm their role and position in many fields of social life. Not only cultivating family happiness and caring for raising children, women are also dynamic, creative, dedicated and responsible cadres, civil servants, public employees, and laborers, actively contributing to the development of agencies, units and society.

For the Can Tho City Labor Federation agency, female union members are always an important force, contributing to building a united and responsible collective, and completing assigned tasks well.

The meeting is an opportunity to honor the contributions of female union members and workers, and at the same time create conditions for union members to exchange, share, and strengthen solidarity. Thereby, contributing to building a friendly working environment, encouraging union members and workers to continue to promote the spirit of responsibility, dynamism, and creativity in work.
