The mark of female trade union officials for the advancement of women
The Medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" is a recognition of the persistent contributions of female trade union officials in women's work.
With many years of attachment to trade union work, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Chau - Chairwoman of the Trade Union, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of the Southern Food Corporation Trade Union (under the Vietnam Union of Agriculture and Environment) - always pays special attention to the lives, rights and development opportunities of female workers.
Being awarded the Medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union is a recognition of her persistent efforts and sense of responsibility in the journey to promote gender equality.
During her work, despite holding many different positions, Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Chau always associated the task of the Trade Union organization with caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers, especially female workers, civil servants, and laborers.

In her position in charge of women's affairs and participating in the Women's Progress Committee of the Corporation, she and the collective proactively advised and proposed solutions to implement regimes and policies for female workers.
The work of discovering, commending and rewarding female officials and union members with achievements and positive contributions to the unit is also concerned, thereby encouraging the spirit of striving and affirming the capacity of women in work.
Not only stopping at ensuring rights, women's work under the participation and direction of Ms. Chau also aims to raise awareness and create motivation for female union members and workers to proactively rise up and develop their abilities.
The Women's Trade Union of the Corporation has implemented resolutions and programs on mobilizing female workers, civil servants, and laborers; maintained the emulation movement "Good at work, good at home"; and at the same time promoted propaganda of the Party's guidelines, policies, and laws of the State related to female labor, gender equality, population, families and children.
Activities in response to the Action Month and thematic programs on gender are organized to help female union members and workers better understand their rights and responsibilities, while arousing the spirit of proactiveness, sense of responsibility and aspiration to contribute.
Through this, women's work has gradually contributed to building a respectful and equal working environment, where women have more conditions to develop their abilities and participate in management and leadership positions.
At the Southern Food Corporation, there are currently 1,332 female workers out of a total of 3,443 workers. Meanwhile, women hold 8 out of 32 management and leadership positions. These figures show the important role of the female labor force in the unit's operations, and at the same time raise the requirement to continue to expand opportunities for women to participate more deeply in the process of management, administration and business development.
Regarding women's work, each policy effectively implemented, each female union member recognized and each development opportunity opened up is of practical significance. That is not only immediate care but also contributes to creating an environment for women to confidently affirm their values, balance family responsibilities with work and promote abilities in the collective.
Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Chau's contributions are recognized through many forms of commendation during her work, including Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and trade union levels. The Medal "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" is a meaningful milestone, recognizing her contribution to women's affairs and the progress of women.
For trade union workers, recognition is not only in titles or rewards, but also in positive changes in workers' lives. For Ms. Ngo Thi Thanh Chau, the journey of caring for female workers is also a persistent journey to promote gender equality, protect legitimate rights and create more opportunities for women to develop.
