Bringing the law closer to workers in Ho Chi Minh City
In order to bring the law closer to workers, Tan My Ward Police (HCMC) have propagated and guided traffic safety and fire prevention skills right in the rented area.
On October 24, Tan My Ward Police informed that the unit had organized a program to propagate and disseminate laws on traffic order and safety and fire prevention and fighting in residential areas and boarding houses in the area.
Understanding the specific nature of work and living conditions of workers in boarding houses, the Ward Police proactively chose propaganda time in the evening, after people finished a working day. This work creates favorable conditions for people to access legal knowledge right at their place of residence.

At the propaganda session, the Order Police Team coordinated with the Regional Police force to guide people on knowledge and skills of safe motorbike and motorcycle driving; how to identify risks, prevent traffic accidents and handle common situations on the road. In addition, functional forces also integrated propaganda on fire prevention and fighting at households and boarding houses; and at the same time distributed leaflets, guiding people to scan QR codes to conduct surveys on traffic safety knowledge.
Ms. Le Thi Mai (resident of Tan My ward) expressed: "My boarding house area is mostly workers who go to work from early morning until late afternoon. The ward police's flexible choice of evening time to go to the place to guide on laws and fire prevention and fighting skills is very timely. Tenants are equipped with knowledge to comply with the law, and also raise awareness of maintaining security and order and fire safety for the entire row of boarding houses".

Propaganda activities at the boarding house area are part of a series of actions in response to the "Most Disciplined - Most Loyal - Closest to the People" emulation movement of Tan My Ward Police. The unit determines that the spirit of "close to the people" does not only stop at being regularly present at the grassroots level, but also must know how to listen, understand and proactively create the most favorable conditions for people to access the law in a practical way.
For those who are busy making a living all day, the fact that officers and soldiers come to their residences to propagate after working hours not only helps them equip themselves with more knowledge and self-protection skills, but also shows the spirit of responsibility, concern and companionship of the Police force towards people's lives.
For Tan My Ward Police, being close to the people means understanding the people, being close to the people means sharing the difficulties of the people. From small and practical actions, the Ward Police force will continue to build the image of a dedicated and responsible soldier, for the peaceful and happy life of the people in the area.
