Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation plans to spend nearly 400 billion VND to care for Tet Dinh Mui 2027 for workers

On October 21, at the headquarters of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Mr. Bui Cong Hoan - Deputy Head of the Policy and Law and Labor Relations Department, Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation informed about the plans to care for Tet Dinh Mui 2027 for union members and workers. The total estimated budget for Tet Dinh Mui 2027 care work at the city level is nearly 400 billion VND.

According to the plan, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation plans to implement Tet care for about 370,000 cases in difficult circumstances according to the approved allocation. The program focuses on prioritizing subjects who have lost their jobs, reduced jobs, low incomes, are owed wages, work accidents, occupational diseases, critical illnesses or families facing upheavals.

Regarding the level of support funds, employees belonging to the common group are entitled to a maximum of 1,000,000 VND/person, while employees at enterprises that have not yet established trade unions but have paid trade union fees are entitled to a maximum support level of 500,000 VND/person.

For particularly difficult cases that meet the conditions and dossiers according to specific regulations, the maximum support level is 2,000,000 VND/person.

Along with direct care activities, the program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" is expected to take place from January 22 to February 3, 2027 at 9 locations in the city, prioritizing the selection of areas with large concentrations of workers, boarding houses and accommodation areas. Participating in the program, workers in the approved list will receive a cash gift worth 1,000,000 VND/person, and at the same time enjoy cultural performances, receive Tet greetings and receive train and bus tickets to return to their hometowns for Tet.

In order to share the burden of travel costs, the program "Meaningful Ticket - Spring 2027" continues its journey to bring workers far from home to reunite with their families with diverse support methods including bus tickets, train tickets and air tickets.

For roads, the program supports 5,000 one-way seat bus tickets for union members and workers from Ho Chi Minh City returning to their hometowns on routes from Phu Yen province (formerly) to Hanoi. Each worker receives 01 ticket with 01 meal and 01 gift. The departure ceremony is expected to take place on Sunday, January 31, 2027.

For railways, the program awards 2,000 soft seat train tickets with air conditioning for one-way journeys from Ho Chi Minh City to the Central and Northern provinces, departing from Saigon, Di An and Bien Hoa stations. Specific allocated targets include 300 tickets to Hue, 700 tickets to Nghe An and 1,000 tickets to Hanoi. The centralized departure ceremony is expected to take place at 6:00 AM on January 31, 2027 at Saigon Station. All train tickets will be transferred to the focal point and beneficiaries 5 days before the departure date.

In addition, "Trade Union Flight - Spring 2027" sponsors 500 one-way economy class air tickets (including taxes, fees and baggage standards) departing from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Among them, 300 tickets are directed to Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) and 200 tickets to Vinh International Airport (Nghe An).

In parallel with union buses and trains, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation also organizes other activities such as: Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2027; "Trade Union Year-end Meal"; trade union levels coordinate to implement the program "Tet is not far from home", visiting and giving gifts directly to workers in boarding houses or on construction sites.
