From the inadequacies in the production process, Mr. Than Van Dai proactively researched, applied technology and proposed practical initiatives.

In an industrial production environment with thousands of workers, each improvement, even starting from a small operation, can create major changes if researched methodically and applied correctly.

For Mr. Than Van Dai, a union member of Hong Hai Science and Technology Group (KHKT) (Bac Ninh), the initiative not only originated from the requirement to complete the work but also from the desire to find more effective ways to help the production line operate stably and businesses save resources.

Assigned to manage the inspection and assembly line at the B01 Dong Vang workshop, Mr. Dai always pays attention to observing the reality, discovering inadequacies to proactively propose improvement plans.

He determined that to improve production efficiency, in addition to the efforts of each worker, it is necessary to continuously innovate processes, reduce unnecessary operations and better exploit available resources.

From that thought, he actively coordinated with relevant departments to research and implement solutions suitable to actual conditions. Initiatives aimed at specific goals: saving raw materials, reducing production costs, improving product quality and increasing labor productivity.

In 2024, Mr. Dai participated in proposing the initiative "Program to combine the operation station for scanning through the product inspection station and the station for scanning accessories and product codes - VI & Print GB Label Combination".

The initiative was implemented to improve the operating process in production, contributing to improving operational efficiency. The project won the Third Prize at the 2024 Improvement Project competition of Dong Vang factory area company, with an estimated profit value of 2,208,780,000 VND/year.

Not stopping at the achieved results, in 2025, Mr. Dai continued to participate in research, development and application of many initiatives such as "8S Field Assessment System", "Surface Error Rate Management System VI" and "Smart Worker Positioning Management System".

In which, the smart worker positioning system (SPM) is a prominent initiative, aimed at solving an important problem in production management: how to arrange workers in the right positions, suitable for skills and job requirements, while saving time to coordinate human resources.

This initiative won the First Prize at the 2025 Improvement Project competition of Dong Vang Factory Area Company; and also won the Second Prize in the practical learning report of the 14th Preparatory Intermediate Management Class organized by the Human Resources Department of Hong Hai Science and Technology Group in coordination with Foxconn University.

A notable point of the SPM system is the application of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to support skills data management and labor allocation. The system receives, synthesizes, standardizes, compares and analyzes information, thereby supporting human resource arrangement according to skills, position and production needs.

At the factory, there are about 1,500 direct workers, the SPM system brings an estimated profit value of 3,355,000,000 VND/year. This figure shows the potential of combining practical experience with technology in solving specific business issues.

If it continues to be improved and replicated throughout the Group, the model can create more value from optimizing human resources, improving productivity and promoting the digitalization of production management" - Mr. Than said.

From improving operating procedures to applying AI in human resource coordination, Mr. Than Van Dai's initiatives show the important role of workers in the process of production innovation.

They not only directly create products but can also become people who discover problems, propose solutions and contribute to improving the competitiveness of businesses.
