Hung Yen workers have initiatives to improve and increase productivity in production

From the inconveniences in production

At ABC Vietnam Joint Stock Company, Doan Dao commune, Hung Yen province, many technical improvement initiatives are formed from the daily work of workers. From having to move many times, carrying raw materials and finished products to easily confusing stages, workers and production departments find ways to improve and bring automatic equipment to each appropriate stage.

One of the solutions is automatic extrusion weighing at Factory 2, which is invested with more than 154.9 million VND and put into application from December 2024.

Previously, after producing a package of finished products, workers had to move to the weighbridge to wait for weighing, get data, clip stamps and then return to the production location. Each operation took about 2 minutes. Lift trucks also had to bring finished products to the weighbridge, waiting for the weighing to finish before transporting them back to the warehouse.

After the automatic weighing system is put into use, the data is displayed right at the weighing head. Workers can write information on stamps and clip them directly into products, lift trucks, and lift bags of extruded finished products that have fully recorded data directly to the warehouse.

The solution helps reduce about 110 hours of travel and waiting per month, equivalent to 1,320 hours per year. Costs related to waiting time, fuel and repair of lifting vehicles are reduced by about 11 million VND per month, equivalent to 132 million VND per year.

Mr. Vu Binh Trong - Deputy Head of Production Operations Department of ABC Vietnam Joint Stock Company said that initiatives that are suitable for the reality of workers must originate from the inadequacies in the production process, and at the same time have the coordination and support of businesses.

To have initiatives suitable for production practice, in addition to self-research and exploration, I always receive attention and favorable conditions in terms of funding, human resources, and time from businesses.

Each initiative that is successfully applied not only brings benefits to businesses but also becomes a motivation for me to continue to complete the assigned tasks well" - Mr. Trong shared.

Automation, reduced labor

Automatic mixing scales at Factory 1 and Factory 2 are solutions with large investments, while also bringing significant efficiency in the production process.

Previously, in the mixing stage, workers at the factory had to work continuously for 8 hours to pour each bag of raw materials into the mixing batches as required by the central control system, mixing warehouse workers worked continuously for 8 hours to weigh and pack raw materials after mixing according to each production batch and then transferring them to the factory.

A batch can include many types of raw materials, weighing from 5 kg to 25 kg. Workers have to both carry, paw, pour raw materials and carry out manual weighing and packing into small bags according to batches mixed with raw materials that cannot be weighed automatically.

After the automatic mixing scale system is put into use, the weighing and supply of raw materials are carried out automatically. Workers do not have to carry, carry, and pour raw materials in batches as before. After the raw materials are mixed, they are discharged directly into bags, lift trucks transport them to the factory and use automatic scales to weigh them for production.

At Factory 1 and 2, the system is invested with 1.4 billion VND, put into use from July 2025. The solution helps reduce about 1,538 working hours per month, 18,456 hours/year for workers in the factory.

Ms. Dao Thi Huyen - Deputy Production Director of ABC Vietnam Joint Stock Company said that the improvement of production stages is of concern to businesses, in which solutions originating from the actual work of workers are considered to be applied appropriately to the production line.

From the implemented initiatives, many stages have reduced manual operations, limited labor and waiting time. The automation of weighing, counting, and supplying raw materials also contributes to more accurate control of the production process.
