May 10 female worker has initiative to triple productivity
Ms. Tran Thi Van is an industrial garment operation worker of Veston Hanoi Enterprise, May 10 Corporation - JSC. In her, the spirit of applying science and technology, technical innovation, and innovation is always the motto for work. She is 1 of the 10 typical workers nationwide in 2026 commended by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.
Workers directly involved in production are the ones who understand the irrationalities best.
Throughout 16 years in the profession, Ms. Tran Thi Van has always proactively discovered irrationalities in production, found ways to shorten operations, eliminate redundant stages, and improve product quality. From practical work, she coordinates with the technical department to implement many initiatives and improvements directly applied to production.
Ms. Van has two typical initiatives on sewing electric wires and sewing bear wires with programming machines, making a profit of nearly 32 million VND/year, contributing to improving productivity and product quality. In which, the initiative of sewing electric wires applied to 21,973 SA-coded products, switching from a 1-aigule machine to a combined programming machine, helping to reduce operating time and improve production efficiency.
The solution has reduced 69 seconds/product, productivity increased 2 times, and at the same time created a profitable value of 24,252,192 VND. The initiative "Sewing bear rope with a programming machine" was applied to the product code Morning, with a production of 2,595 products. This is a product with complex structure, the sewing stage is difficult to perform and takes a lot of time. Ms. Van has proactively researched new methods, applied programming machines to integrate operations, eliminated 3 redundant stages and shortened the path of semi-finished products. As a result, the operating time was reduced by 184 seconds/product, productivity increased 3 times, and the profitable value reached 7,639,680 VND.
Proactively create, improve techniques, create direct value for production
Taking on many complex stages, requiring high technique and accuracy in producing Veston trousers, Ms. Tran Thi Van always proactively improves and arranges scientific operations, eliminates redundant movements, shortens time but still ensures product quality. She sets a productivity target for each hour, regularly monitors and adjusts working methods. Thanks to that, labor productivity regularly reaches from 110 - 120%, product quality belongs to the leading group of the Enterprise. This result is maintained in the production process, showing a sense of responsibility, time saving awareness, work organization ability and self-motivation in each stage.
Especially at the 7th Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry Skilled Workers Contest (held in July 2026), with the spirit of boldly approaching new technology, Ms. Van proposed to bring a Laser cutting programming machine into the bag splitting stage. After exchanging and agreeing with the members of the team, the equipment was put into the test, helping the bag splitting stage achieve high accuracy, sharp cuts, uniform products and good aesthetics.
The choice of new equipment shows the innovative thinking of workers, knowing how to apply appropriate technology to replace manual labor.
