Trade union coordinates with businesses in Hai Phong to build a new model for workers

The Trade Union of Evergreen Vietnam Shoe Co., Ltd. currently has 1,540 union members out of a total of 1,618 employees. Over the past time, the Trade Union has coordinated with businesses to organize periodic dialogues, employee conferences, negotiate and sign collective labor agreements with many clauses that are more beneficial to employees. The agreement stipulates that employees are entitled to Tet bonuses of at least one month's salary, the basic salary is 5% higher than the minimum salary.

The average income of employees reaches about 11 million VND/person/month, an increase of 28% compared to the beginning of the term. Female employees pregnant from the 25th week of pregnancy are reduced working hours and have one more hour of work break according to the business's regime. The Trade Union also coordinates to monitor the quality of lunch meals, negotiating to increase the meal allowance from 20,000 VND to 25,000 VND/portion.

According to the self-review results of the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model criteria, the Company's Trade Union achieved 82/100 points. In which, the group of caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers achieved 35/35 points; the group of improving cultural and spiritual life achieved 6/20 points; the group of organizing emulation movements achieved 17/20 points; the group of participating in building a strong Party, government and Trade Union organization achieved 24/25 points.

In the period 2026-2030, the Company's Trade Union focuses on improving the effectiveness of dialogue and collective bargaining; improving the cultural, spiritual, level and skills of employees; maintaining emulation movements associated with productivity, product quality and labor safety. The Trade Union also sets a target to organize at least 2 cultural and artistic activities, 2 physical education and sports activities and at least one class on legal, occupational safety and health or professional skills, soft skills each year.

Speaking at the model launching ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan Anh - Vice Chairwoman of Hai Phong City Labor Federation said that the socialist grassroots trade union model originates from the aspirations of union members and workers, taking workers as the center and the main beneficiaries are workers. Therefore, after the launching ceremony, Tien Lang Commune Trade Union and grassroots trade unions will continue to review and summarize the needs of union members and workers so that trade unions can provide timely support, helping workers feel secure in their work and be attached to businesses and trade union organizations for a long time.

Representing the business side, Ms. GEJINBO - General Director of the Company said that the Board of Directors highly appreciates and supports the construction of the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model. At the same time, she affirmed that building the "Socialist Grassroots Trade Union" model is not only the task of the Trade Union but also a common task for the future development of Evergreen Vietnam Footwear Co., Ltd. This model will help the Trade Union become stronger, workers have a better life, businesses develop more stably, and successfully complete the goals assigned by the Group.

On this occasion, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation presented 20 gifts to workers in difficult circumstances. Evergreen Shoe Co., Ltd. presented 20 gifts to policy families in Tien Minh commune.
