More than 70 trade union officials from 3 provinces participate in training in Thanh Hoa
Thanh Hoa - More than 70 trade union officials from communes and wards of 3 provinces Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An participated in a training class organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
On October 8th, at the Thanh Hoa Provincial Youth and Community Center (Sam Son ward), the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor organized the opening ceremony of the training and fostering class for trade union officials of communes, wards, and special zones in 2026.
Attending the training class were Mr. Tran Van Thuat - former Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Doan Duc Han - Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Labor Relations Department of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, and more than 70 trainees who are chairmen and vice chairmen of commune and ward trade unions in 3 provinces of Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.

This is the 8th class out of a total of 10 training classes organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor according to Plan No. 47/KH-TLĐ dated September 4, 2026, to equip professional knowledge and skills for commune, ward, and special zone trade union officials, meeting the requirements of renovating trade union organizations and activities in the new situation.
Speaking at the opening, Mr. Doan Duc Han emphasized that 2026 is the first year the General Confederation of Labour implements the Resolution of the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress, concretizing the Party's guidelines and resolutions on building the working class, innovating and improving the quality of trade union activities at all levels.
According to Mr. Han, the commune and ward trade union model is an important innovation in organization, suitable for the 2-level local government model. This is a trade union level close to the grassroots level, close to union members and workers, directly implementing the guidelines and tasks of the trade union organization.
However, due to the new model being implemented, many officials are taking on leadership and management work for the first time or directly organizing trade union activities in the locality. Therefore, fostering knowledge, skills and working methods is an urgent requirement.

In 2 days (October 8-9), trainees were presented with 5 key topics, including: Basic issues of the Vietnam Trade Union; functions and tasks of commune, ward, special zone trade unions and orientations for the coming time; new points of the Charter of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union; trade union financial and asset management; inspection, supervision and operation of the Trade Union Inspection Committee; union member development, establishment of grassroots trade unions.
Thematic topics are directly conveyed by experienced officials of the VGCL, combined with exchanges and answers to issues arising in the practical activities of trade unions at the grassroots level.
Through the training class, the VGCL aims to improve the capacity, qualifications and bravery of the team of commune and ward trade union officials, contributing to improving the effectiveness of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
