Vietnam Culture Day November 24 is the last holiday in 2026. Officials, civil servants, public employees and laborers are entitled to 1 day off, non-exchange.
According to the document conveying the opinion of the Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra on the plan to take some holidays and Tet holidays in 2026 and 2027, the Deputy Prime Minister agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs on the plan to take Vietnam Culture Day holiday in 2026 on Tuesday, November 24, without interchange.
Thus, on this occasion, officials, civil servants, public employees and laborers are entitled to 1 day off.
Previously, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that taking leave on November 24 contributed to limiting disruptions to work schedules, production, and business in this period.
This holiday schedule aims to ensure harmony between creating conditions for people to participate and enjoy cultural activities and the requirement to maintain the normal operation of state agencies, businesses and the economy.
The meaning of Vietnam Culture Day is not only in the length of the holiday but also in the quality of the activities organized, the ability to access and the level of actual participation of the people.
At the recent national online conference to thoroughly grasp and implement Vietnam Culture Day associated with the Great National Unity Festival in 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra emphasized that 2026 is the first year to implement Resolution No. 80 of the Politburo on cultural development, and also the first year to organize Vietnam Culture Day on November 24.
To implement this task, the Government has issued Decision No. 1111/QD-TTg on the Plan to organize Vietnam Culture Day for the period 2026-2030 and Directive No. 35/CT-TTg on organizing Vietnam Culture Day associated with the Great National Unity Festival in 2026.
According to the plan, the series of activities of Culture Week - Great National Unity will take place from November 18 to November 24.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested that the preparation work must be carried out with a high sense of responsibility, because this is the first time Vietnam Culture Day has been organized nationwide.
