Submitting to the Government a plan for a 4-day National Day holiday in 2027

According to the submission on holiday and Tet holiday plans for 2027 sent to the Government, the Ministry of Home Affairs proposes holidays for National Day 2027.

This holiday will be on September 2, 2027 and the next day is September 3, 2027. This plan continues with 2 weekly holidays.

Accordingly, the National Day holiday in 2027 includes 4 consecutive days from Thursday, September 2, 2027 to the end of Sunday, September 5, 2027 (including 2 National Day holidays according to regulations and 2 weekly holidays).

Regarding the reasons for the proposal, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that this plan creates a continuous 4-day holiday, associated with weekly holidays, creating favorable conditions for civil servants and public employees to proactively arrange time for rest and travel.

For employees in enterprises, the Ministry of Home Affairs proposes that employers decide to let employees take 2 days off, including September 2, 2027 and 1 day on September 1, 2027 or September 3, 2027.

Employers notify employees of the 2027 National Day holiday plan at least 30 days before implementation.

In case weekly holidays coincide with holidays and Tet, the employer arranges compensatory weekly holidays for employees on the next working day according to regulations. Other holidays and Tet holidays are implemented according to the provisions of labor law.

The Ministry of Home Affairs encourages employers to apply the 2027 National Day holiday for employees as a plan for civil servants and public employees, but must ensure the full implementation of regimes for employees according to regulations; encourage agreements that are more beneficial to employees.
