Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival broadcast live on National Television for the first time
An Giang - The traditional Cow Racing Festival of Ro Pagoda in 2026 is broadcast live for the first time on channels of Vietnam Television and the VTVgo digital platform.
On September 13, in An Cu commune, An Giang province, the 12th Traditional Cattle Racing Festival of Ro Pagoda (An Cu commune, An Giang province) - year 2026 (Ca Mau Fertilizer Cup) officially opened, attracting 32 pairs of cows in the area to compete.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tu Luong - Member of the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam Television, Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of VTV Nam Bo - said that the highlight of this year's bull racing festival is that for the first time the event is broadcast live on VTV9, VTV10, VTV5, VTV6 and the national digital platform VTVgo.
According to Mr. Tu Luong, the traditional Rô Pagoda bull racing festival is a unique cultural activity associated with the spiritual life of the Khmer people in the Bay Nui region. Through 11 times of organization, the racing festival has increasingly attracted the attention of people, tourists and media agencies.
Live broadcast is expected to bring the unique images of the bull racing festival to a large audience, thereby contributing to promoting culture, people and landscape of the That Son - An Giang region.
In addition to the competition, this year's Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival organizes a beautiful photo contest for reporters, journalists, photographers and photography enthusiasts. This is an opportunity to record impressive moments of the festival, and introduce the cultural life, people and characteristics of An Cu commune.
In the series of activities, the Organizing Committee also donated 100 bicycles to poor students overcoming difficulties in the Bay Nui region; organized a parade with classic cars from Ho Chi Minh City and promoted local OCOP products.
The traditional Rô Pagoda bull racing festival is held in the atmosphere of preparing for the Sen Don-ta Festival of the Khmer people in the South. Not only is it a sports competition, the racing festival also contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of the Khmer people in the Seven Mountains region.
With 32 pairs of cows participating, the Ro Pagoda Bull Racing Festival 2026 is expected to bring exciting competitions and emotional moments for people, tourists and television viewers.
