Developing union members, Lam Dong needs to strongly focus on FDI enterprises
Lam Dong - Although it has exceeded the target, Lam Dong is proposed to continue to promote union member development, establish grassroots trade unions, especially the FDI sector.
On the morning of October 8th, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, worked with the Standing Committee of the Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee on developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions, industrial park trade unions and labor relations in the area.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation, from the beginning of the year to September 2026, the whole province established 139 grassroots trade unions, admitted 10,361 union members, reaching 144.1% of the union member development target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
The Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation said that developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions is a key task. The Steering Committee for developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions of the province has been established and coordinated to provide information about operating enterprises, newly established enterprises, the situation of labor use and fluctuations, and labor relations.

Commune, ward, and special zone trade unions also proactively develop plans, approach businesses, especially the non-state sector, and propagate and mobilize workers to join the Trade Union.
Although the results of the Lam Dong Provincial Trade Union have exceeded the target, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong proposed that the Provincial Labor Federation continue to promote the development of union members and establish grassroots trade unions. In which, it is necessary to pay more attention to foreign-invested enterprises (FDI), and at the same time foster and introduce outstanding union members to consider Party admission.

One content noted by the leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor is the establishment of the Lam Dong Industrial Park Trade Union. Ms. Thai Thu Xuong assessed that this is an urgent project in the context of the province's increasingly large industrial development scale.
The Provincial Labor Federation said that it has developed a draft Project, organized to collect opinions and receive and complete the draft. The dossier is currently being further completed to submit to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee for consideration and policy approval.
This issue was also discussed by Ms. Pham Thi Phuc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province.
Regarding labor relations, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong proposed to pay attention to solutions to handle the situation of wage arrears and social insurance debts; and at the same time strengthen solutions to ensure hygiene, labor safety, and reduce labor accidents.

Regarding the activities of commune, ward, and special zone trade unions, Ms. Thai Thu Xuong said that some places have not been effective. In the coming time, it is necessary to study the orientation of inter-communal trade unions and cluster trade unions to improve the effectiveness of care, while closely monitoring the situation of union members and workers.
Currently, the Lam Dong Provincial Labor Federation manages 28 commune, ward, special zone trade unions and 1,072 grassroots trade unions, with 97,809 trade union members.
In the context of the number of union members continuing to increase, the requirement is that the Trade Union organization must not only expand in quantity but also improve the quality of operation, closely follow businesses, better care for workers' rights and actively participate in building stable labor relations.
