People voluntarily hand over golden mountain turtles to functional agencies

On October 28th, Bao An Ward Police coordinated with the Ward People's Committee and the Forest Protection force to receive a golden mountain turtle individual voluntarily handed over by people.

Previously, during work, Mr. Ho Duy Long, residing in Bao An ward, discovered a golden mountain turtle individual, so he proactively contacted functional agencies to hand it over.

Through inspection, functional forces identified the above animal as the golden mountain turtle (Indotestudo elongata), belonging to the reptile class. This is a wild animal with high conservation value, facing many threats from hunting, trading and loss of natural habitat.

After receiving, functional units will conduct inspections, complete procedures and guide handling according to regulations. The turtle individual will be cared for, monitored for health and considered for returning to a suitable natural habitat.

Mr. Ho Duy Long's voluntary handover of the golden mountain turtle individual shows the sense of responsibility of the people in protecting wildlife, contributing to preserving biodiversity.
