Responding to the "For the Poor" Peak Month 2026, the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) of communes and wards of Hanoi City actively mobilizes social resources, cares for the poor and those in difficult circumstances through supporting housing, means of learning, creating livelihoods, contributing to helping people stabilize their lives, rise up and spread the spirit of mutual affection in the community.
Sustainable poverty reduction in a large city like Hanoi requires the synchronous involvement of the entire political system, in which the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels plays an important role in gathering and mobilizing people from all walks of life, connecting social resources and monitoring the implementation of social security policies. The "For the Poor" peak month in 2026, taking place from October 17 to November 18, continues to be an opportunity for the grassroots Front to turn the spirit of sharing into specific actions, suitable to the needs of each circumstance.
In Viet Hung ward, to have resources to care for the poor and people in difficult circumstances, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has mobilized agencies, units, businesses, organizations, individuals and people to support the "For the Poor" Fund, and at the same time encourage direct support through building and repairing houses, creating livelihoods, taking care of education, healthcare and regularly sponsoring particularly difficult cases.

Through this, residential groups are required to review and firmly grasp the circumstances of each household to propose appropriate forms of support, ensuring resources reach the right people and the right needs. This approach not only contributes to improving the efficiency of resource use but also creates conditions for organizations and individuals to accompany people in difficult circumstances for a long time.
Not only focusing on housing support, other localities in the city also expanded care activities in many fields.
As in Phu Thuong ward, the program to launch the "For the Poor" Peak Month has received more than 116 million VND registered to contribute to the 2026 Fund. In the past 9 months, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward and member organizations have given 1,659 Tet gifts, total value of nearly 1.4 billion VND; mobilized more than 400 million VND to support the "For Vietnam's Sea and Islands" Fund.
In Doai Phuong commune, care for the poor is also being implemented in many forms. In the first 9 months of 2026, the commune's "For the Poor" Fund mobilized more than 608 million VND. Through this, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune coordinated to review and agree to support the construction and repair of 7 houses of great solidarity with a total budget of 550 million VND. The "Parental Mother" program also continued to support 23 orphans with a total budget of 144 million VND; the campaign "For Vietnam's Sea and Islands" reached more than 235 million VND.
Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City Bui Huyen Mai emphasized that along with economic development, the city always cares about people's lives so that development achievements reach everyone, every family. The joint efforts of organizations and businesses are a valuable resource, contributing to helping many households have stable housing, conditions for studying, medical examination and treatment, jobs and livelihoods to gradually rise up.
“Besides the cases that need immediate support, there are also families who need means of production and job opportunities to stabilize their lives for a long time. Therefore, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city will coordinate with agencies, units and the Vietnam Fatherland Front of communes and wards to connect support sources with those in need of help, and at the same time create conditions for organizations and businesses to monitor the results and effective contributions. This is the basis for mobilization activities to become more substantive and better promote social resources in poverty reduction and social security assurance work” - Ms. Bui Huyen Mai said.
The People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City has just organized the "Joining Hands for the Poor and Social Security" program of Hanoi City in 2026, and at the same time honored organizations and businesses that have made many contributions to social security work in the area. At the program, the "For the Poor" Fund of Hanoi City received donations from 160 collectives and individuals with a total amount of over 77 billion VND.
