Launching the Office of Cluster Area of Industrial Park No. 7 with 104 grassroots trade unions

The office of the cluster area of Industrial Park No. 7 is in charge of grassroots trade unions belonging to Thuan Thanh I, Thuan Thanh II, Thuan Thanh III and Gia Binh industrial parks.

This is the last office launched out of a total of 7 offices in industrial park areas, contributing to bringing trade union activities closer to grassroots levels, businesses and workers.

The cluster of industrial zone No. 7 currently has 104 grassroots trade unions with 16,688 union members and workers. Businesses in the area are mainly small and medium-sized, mostly foreign-invested enterprises, operating in the fields of manufacturing sports equipment, casting products, electronic components and supporting industries.

According to reports at the conference, the situation of union members and workers in the area is basically stable; the implementation of labor laws at many businesses has positive changes.

However, workers still face pressure on housing costs, living expenses, childcare and the risk of job fluctuations according to orders.

Female workers account for 55.46% of the total labor force, with a large demand for health care, maternity benefits, kindergartens and suitable working conditions. Grassroots trade unions proposed to pay attention to developing social housing, cultural and sports facilities, and kindergartens near industrial parks; strengthen food safety assurance and inspect compliance with labor safety and hygiene laws.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Thach Van Chung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Bac Ninh City Labor Federation emphasized that the establishment of offices in industrial park clusters stems from the requirement to closely follow grassroots levels, firmly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers, and promptly support grassroots trade unions in solving arising problems.

In the context of reduced full-time human resources, the City Labor Federation proactively arranges and assigns officials to work interspersed between communes, wards and industrial parks, ensuring the effective use of the staff, linking tasks with specific responsibilities.

Speaking to direct, Mr. Dao Thanh Truong - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactiveness of the City Labor Federation in arranging areas, innovating operating methods in the direction of being close to grassroots levels, close to businesses and serving workers more promptly.

He requested the officials in charge of the cluster to regularly go to the enterprise, firmly grasp the situation of employment, income, life, regimes, policies and labor relations; detect early and proactively coordinate to solve problems right from the grassroots level.

At the same time, focus on supporting grassroots trade unions to improve the quality of dialogue, collective bargaining, collective labor agreements and employee conferences; strengthen coordination with businesses to build a stable working environment, ensure jobs and improve workers' lives.
