Linh Nguyễn (báo lao động) 13/10/2026 15:08 (GMT+7)

Launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor from the beginning of June 2026, the emulation movement "good labor – high productivity – good income" has truly entered the lives of workers, creating motivation for them to promote creativity, apply science, technology and digital transformation in labor and production.

Proactively apply science and technology to improve labor productivity

Ho Quang Sinh - Electrical engineer of Operation Workshop 1, Phu My Thermal Power Company, born in 1995. In the past 7 years of work, Sinh has had many personal initiatives and is a co-author of many initiatives contributing to increasing productivity for the unit.

Every day when he comes to the unit, Sinh always observes to detect unreasonable points in his work, and then researches documents to optimize the system.

Sinh works with the message to proactively innovate, apply science and technology and artificial intelligence to improve productivity, ensure labor safety and contribute to the development of the unit and the country. The success of the collective is created from the efforts, discipline and responsibility of each worker.

That is the basis for Ho Quang Sinh's initiatives to always have the application of technology and artificial intelligence. In the 2024-2025 period, Sinh participated in proposing and implementing 7 initiatives and technical solutions, including 2 EVN-level initiatives, 01 Power Generation Corporation 3-level initiative and 4 Phu My Thermal Power Company-level initiatives.

Solutions focus on IGV special-line adjustment, unit power control, Bypass Damper system, performance - heat consumption monitoring, operating parameter analysis, improvement of heat recovery furnace start/stop mode and improvement of gas turbine efficiency.

One solution calculated by the dossier reduces heat consumption by about 61BTU/kWh, equivalent to about 0.78%, estimated cost savings of about 23.12 billion VND. Ho Quang Sinh is very active in applying science - technology, digital transformation and AI in his expertise. He also participated in the topic "Research on building virtual assistants to support the operation of Phu My 1 Power Plant".

Sinh's achievements are recognized by the Creative Labor Certificate 2024 of the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, the Creative Labor Certificate of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2025, the Certificate of Merit from the State Capital Management Committee at enterprises and other professional awards.

What is precious about Ho Quang Sinh is that he does not maintain the message of proactive innovation, applying science and technology and artificial intelligence to improve his own productivity, but spreads it to many colleagues through regularly sharing knowledge and experience.

Answering the question of what is the motivation to have many initiatives and creativity, Ho Quang Sinh said simply: "When you work hard, the productivity in your work increases. This is good for businesses and good for yourself because your income is increased.

In 2024 and 2025, Mr. Sinh was repeatedly rewarded salary incentives by the company for performing well the assigned tasks with many initiatives. In 2026, Mr. Sinh was sent to Korea to receive and transfer technology to serve the development of the unit.

From small improvements to great efficiency

Very quickly, the emulation movement "Good Labor - High Productivity - Good Income" was concretized at many businesses. Speaking about this practical emulation movement, Ms. Le Thi Tham - Senior Engineer, Product Technology Department No. 1, Canon Vietnam Co., Ltd., one of the examples of initiative and creativity, said: "With the spirit of'From small improvements to great efficiency', along with the support and facilitation of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Company's Trade Union, we are always concerned about how to make work more efficient, reduce unnecessary operations but still improve product quality.

We have researched and implemented many improvement solutions, in which the reduction of repeated inspection stages on the production line is prominent, contributing to reducing manual operations, optimizing resources and improving labor productivity.

The goal of this activity is to eliminate duplicate inspection stages, not create added value, reduce manual operations of workers, optimize human resources on the production line, improve productivity and quality of products and reduce production costs, and increase the operational efficiency of enterprises”.

To achieve this goal, Ms. Tham and her colleagues synchronously implemented 5 solutions: Improving the quality of human resources, standardizing production processes, surveying and evaluating reality, promoting technology application, and deploying according to a roadmap.

Thanks to the above solutions, the number of direct workers on many production lines has been reduced while maintaining, even improving productivity and quality of products. This improvement idea has benefited nearly

27 billion VND. Optimized human resources have helped the Company expand production, increase output, improve business efficiency; and at the same time create conditions to improve income and living standards for employees.

The actual effectiveness of the emulation movement with both businesses and workers makes Ms. Tham and her colleagues believe that the initiative and creativity movement will continue to spread, contributing to realizing the goal: Better labor - Higher productivity - Better income - More sustainable business development.
