Quang Tri establishes inter-sectoral team to handle May Thang Long case of salary debt and late payment of insurance

On October 6th, information from the People's Committee of Quang Tri province said that it had just issued a document requesting departments, branches, and localities to implement many measures to stabilize the situation at Thang Long Garment Trading Co., Ltd.

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Home Affairs to preside over the establishment of an inter-sectoral working group including the Department of Home Affairs, the Provincial Labor Federation, the Department of Finance, Social Insurance, the Provincial Police, the Tax authority, the State Bank - Branch Area 8 and the People's Committee of Dong Son Ward.

The Department of Home Affairs is requested to urgently compile statistics and make a list of affected workers; determine the amount of salary owed to each person and each month. On that basis, functional agencies determine the plan to handle salaries and other benefits, and at the same time guide workers to carry out legal procedures to protect their rights.

Notably, Quang Tri Provincial Police were assigned to verify the residence status of Mr. Dang Thang Long - Director, legal representative of Thang Long Garment Trading Co., Ltd.; clarify the cause that is currently unreachable.

In case signs of criminal law violation or acts with signs of appropriation or absconding to evade obligations are detected, the Provincial Police propose to handle them according to their authority and legal regulations.

The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate in reviewing the financial situation, assets and solvency of the company; summarize information on capital sources, assets, receivables, payables and other financial obligations. This agency also coordinates to assess the business's ability to continue operations and solvency to propose handling plans.

Account review, insurance, tax

The State Bank - Branch Region 8 is requested to direct and guide Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank - Quang Binh Branch to review and confirm the company's account balance, and implement measures to ensure balance safety according to regulations.

For insurance items, the Social Insurance agency is assigned to urgently review the amount of late payment and evasion of social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance of enterprises; determine the number of employees, time and related amounts.

The Social Insurance Agency must guide employees to complete dossiers, develop plans to confirm the social insurance contribution period according to regulations, and at the same time continue to apply measures to recover late payment and evasion fees.

The Provincial People's Committee requests the Provincial Labor Federation to continue to grasp the thoughts and aspirations, and guide workers to exercise their rights according to the law. If necessary, workers are guided to carry out procedures for initiating lawsuits and resolving labor disputes to request businesses to pay wages and related benefits.

The Tax authority is responsible for confirming the status of tax obligation performance, reviewing tax debts, assets and financial obligations of Thang Long Garment Trading Co., Ltd.

People's Committees of Dong Son, Ba Don, and Phong Nha communes and wards are required to proactively grasp the security and order situation at enterprises and surrounding areas; have plans to ensure the company's assets, and prevent hot spots from arising. Localities must arrange focal points to regularly receive feedback from workers and promptly report on arising developments.
