Proposal for handling the case of workers being owed wages in Quang Tri
Quang Tri - The Department of Home Affairs proposes a plan to handle the case of workers being owed wages at Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd., protecting the rights of workers.
On October 1st, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Hoa - Deputy Director of Quang Tri Provincial Department of Home Affairs said that she had sent a report to the Provincial People's Committee on the situation of Thang Long Garment Trading Co., Ltd. and proposed a plan to resolve salaries and insurance benefits for employees.
On the same day, at the business headquarters in Dong Son ward, no worker gatherings were recorded. However, hundreds of workers have not yet been paid their August 2026 salaries.
According to Ms. Hoa, Thang Long Garment Trading Co., Ltd. has nearly 400 workers working at 3 locations in Dong Son ward, Ba Don ward and Phong Nha commune.
From September 25 to now, workers and the Executive Committee of the grassroots Trade Union have not been able to contact Mr. Dang Thang Long - Director of the company. Currently, the status, residence and ability to continue operating Mr. Long's business have not been determined.

Ms. Truong Thi Thanh Hoa - Deputy Director of Quang Tri Provincial Department of Home Affairs added that there has been a quick report on the incident, and at the same time proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct relevant agencies to coordinate in resolving it.
Accordingly, the Department of Home Affairs proposes to establish an inter-sectoral working group to determine the legal and financial status and responsibilities of enterprises. Functional agencies will statistically count the number of workers affected, clarify the outstanding salary of each person, each month to develop a handling plan.

Previously, the Provincial Labor Federation, the Department of Home Affairs and the Provincial Social Insurance came to the enterprise to grasp the situation and guide workers to exercise their legitimate rights. Agencies also informed about the recruitment needs of some garment industry enterprises in the area to support workers in finding jobs.
As Lao Dong Newspaper reported, hundreds of workers of Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd. in Quang Tri have not been paid their August 2026 salaries with an amount of about 3 billion VND. The enterprise has nearly 400 employees at 3 locations, but only about 30 people have been paid their August salaries.
Currently, production activities at the company are no longer taking place, while the business director cannot contact, causing employees to worry about the outstanding salaries.
