Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd. owes about 3 billion VND in wages to workers
More than 300 workers of Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd. have not been paid their August salaries, with a total amount of about 3 billion VND.
More than 300 workers have not received their salaries
In the afternoon of September 29, Lao Dong Newspaper reporters recorded at Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd. (Dong Son ward, Quang Tri province), production activities at the enterprise no longer take place. The company headquarters only has some employees working in the office, no workers working.
This situation occurs in the context that hundreds of company workers have not been paid their August 2026 salaries. Notably, up to now, the business director cannot be contacted, making it difficult to resolve outstanding salary debts.
Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd. has 3 workplaces, with a total of nearly 400 workers and laborers. Only about 30 people have been paid their salaries for August, and more than 300 workers and laborers are still owed by businesses.
Mr. Nguyen Viet Dung (character name has been changed), a worker at the company for nearly 8 years, said that he currently has a salary of about 10 million VND/month. However, so far he has not received his 8th month salary, while September is about to end. The inability to contact the company director makes him worried, not knowing when he will be paid the outstanding salary.
Trade unions get involved to demand wages
In the afternoon of September 29, the Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) of Quang Tri province coordinated with relevant agencies, departments, and branches to work directly at Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd.
At the working session, representatives of the Provincial Labor Federation and relevant agencies exchanged views with some employees working at the company's office to find out the reasons leading to the situation of late salary payment.
Based on the collected information, relevant agencies will consider solutions to protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
Mr. Nguyen Tai Minh - Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation - said that after working with inter-sectoral agencies and some office workers of Thang Long Garment Co., Ltd., the Trade Union organization will continue to accompany workers to protect their rights.
Accordingly, grasping the actual situation at enterprises is the basis for relevant agencies to consider and find solutions for unpaid salaries.
While it is not yet possible to contact the company director, the involvement of the Trade Union organization and relevant agencies is expected to contribute to removing obstacles and finding solutions to resolve the salary that workers have not received.
