Related to the case of Green Car Transport Co., Ltd.
(address No. 96 Che Lan Vien, Quy Nhon Nam ward, Gia Lai province) suddenly stopped operating, owing salaries and deposits to many drivers, on October 21, the Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that it had organized mediation for labor disputes between businesses and workers but was unsuccessful.
According to the Provincial Labor Federation, from April 2025, driver Le Thi Thu Thao (born 1972, residing in Quy Nhon Nam ward) and many other workers will sign contracts and deposit money to receive cars and drive taxis for the company. However, from February 2026, the company will only pay a part of the salary, then stop operating and recover the cars handed over to the driver.
Although it has been suspended for more than half a year, the company has not yet paid off the remaining salaries and refunded the deposits to the drivers. As of October 7, the business still owes 16 drivers with petitions for help of more than 90 million VND, including more than 52 million VND in salary and 38 million VND in deposits.
At the mediation session, the drivers requested the company to definitively pay off the remaining debts, and at the same time clearly define the payment deadline. "We are just workers who go to work, earn money with sweat and effort. We only request the company to pay the full amount and answer decisively when to pay. However, the business owner shirks responsibility, claiming that he has paid off his part, and the remaining debt is the responsibility of the company's shareholders" - Ms. Thao said.
Company director says he has no ability to repay debt
Green Car Transport Co., Ltd. has 3 capital contributing members, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Xuan contributing 50%, Mr. Phan Van Anh contributing 30% and Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hoang Xuan Quang contributing 20%. Mr. Quang was appointed director and also the legal representative of the company.
According to Mr. Quang's presentation, from March 2026, the partner has recovered all business vehicles, causing the company to lose revenue and solvency. At that time, the company still owed salaries and deposits to 41 employees with a total of more than 227 million VND.
After the company ceased operations, Mr. Quang drove a taxi to earn income to cover living expenses, and at the same time borrowed "hot" money to pay gradually to 26 employees with a total amount of more than 60 million VND. The remaining debt was about 167 million VND, but the remaining 2 capital contributors did not pay together.
Mr. Quang said that although he only contributed 20% of the capital, he paid more than 60 million VND, equivalent to nearly 1/3 of the total debt, while the remaining 2 members contributed 80% of the capital. Therefore, the remaining debt must be paid by the remaining 2 members.
Mr. Quang requested functional agencies to request Ms. Xuan and Mr. Anh to resolve debts to employees. Up to now, Mr. Quang has not been able to contact these 2 members. He also said that he no longer has enough financial capacity to pay debts and requested functional agencies to resolve the case according to regulations.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation said that the two sides did not reach an agreement at the mediation session and did not accept the plan proposed by the labor mediator. Therefore, the mediation was unsuccessful.
Currently, the Provincial Labor Federation is guiding 16 drivers who have petitions to complete procedures to sue the company in court according to regulations. Some drivers have come to complete procedures, while the remaining cases cannot be carried out due to being busy with work. The Provincial Labor Federation is urging employees to complete dossiers to send lawsuits, avoiding the situation of submitting petitions scattered.
