Trade union support for technology motorbike taxi drivers amidst livelihood pressure
Visiting and giving gifts to technology motorbike taxi drivers, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation reminded workers to maintain a spirit of vigilance and protect their rights associated with the rule of law.
On September 24, a delegation of officials from the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and the City Trade Union Workers' Counseling and Support Center led by Mr. Phung Thai Quang - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Director of the City Trade Union Workers' Counseling and Support Center visited and encouraged technology vehicle union members. The meeting took place at a stop for technology vehicle drivers at address No. 44, Lien khu 16-18 street, Binh Tri Dong ward.

Here, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation directly listened to the thoughts, aspirations and recommendations of the driver force surrounding the issue of life, employment and the desire to access social security policies in the coming time. Recognizing the reality of hard work, Mr. Phung Thai Quang shared the pressures that drivers are facing, from income, working hours, traffic safety to essential social security benefits.
I hope union members always maintain the spirit of solidarity, calmness and alertness in the process of working and reflecting and proposing. When there are difficulties, grievances or legitimate proposals, please boldly reflect so that the Trade Union can listen, accompany and find appropriate solutions together," Mr. Phung Thai Quang confided.

Faced with the context of information spreading rapidly on social networks, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation reminded drivers to be cautious with unverified content, absolutely not to rush to share, spread or listen to incitement and persuasion. He emphasized that when problems arise, parties need to exchange, negotiate and reflect in the right place and in the right way. The protection of legitimate rights must always go hand in hand with the spirit of respecting the law, expressing opinions in a sober and not extreme way.
At the same time, Mr. Quang also reminded the Trade Union to truly play the role of a place to gather, connect and protect union members, creating a solid support for each worker to have a place to share and have an organization to accompany them.
On this occasion, in order to promptly share difficulties with workers, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation and the City Trade Union Workers' Counseling and Support Center presented 20 gifts (each worth 1 million VND, made by bank transfer) to union members in particularly difficult circumstances and individuals actively participating in rescue and relief work in the area.
