Trade union president wholeheartedly cares for the lives of nearly 1,000 union members

Always putting workers' rights first

Since taking office as Chairman of the Trade Union of Song Chu One Member Limited Liability Company (Thanh Hoa) in 2021, what Deputy General Director Tran Duc Hung is most concerned about is how to make the Trade Union organization truly become a solid support for 970 union members who are operating in 22 departmental trade unions.

Going from the grassroots level, I understand the hardships, worries and thoughts, aspirations of workers at production clusters and groups. Workers want working conditions to be improved, rights to be guaranteed and timely companionship and sharing. What policies are beneficial for workers, I propose and recommend to the company's leaders" - Mr. Hung shared.

From that thought, Mr. Hung proactively coordinated with the board of directors to implement democracy regulations at the workplace, maintain dialogue and organize annual employee conferences from the cluster level, production team to branches and the entire company.

The Trade Union also actively negotiated and signed Collective Labor Agreements with many clauses beneficial to union members; maintained periodic and unscheduled dialogues and established legal advisory groups to promptly support and protect the legitimate rights of workers.

Through trade union activities, many regimes and policies are being implemented. The meal allowance for workers has been increased to 35,000 VND/portion; the 13th month salary regime, gasoline allowance, holiday and Tet bonuses are guaranteed. Along with that, the company fully implements social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance; resolves leave, sickness, maternity benefits; maintains periodic health checks and equips labor protection equipment.

In particular, from 2021 to now, Mr. Hung and the trade union executive committee have advised the board of directors to upgrade and repair facilities, improve living and resting conditions for workers in production clusters and groups.

For union members in difficult circumstances, he directly reviews and guides the completion of housing support application dossiers. To date, 20 union member families have been supported to build new and repair houses through the "Trade Union Shelter" program, with a total budget of more than 500 million VND.

Pioneering trade union leader in creative labor

Not only wholeheartedly caring for the lives of union members, Mr. Tran Duc Hung also actively participates in the movement "Good labor, creative labor", researching many solutions originating from production practice. Typical is the initiative on irrigation and drought control for the end of the canal area belonging to the Bai Thuong system in Quang Xuong Irrigation Branch.

In addition, he researched solutions to strengthen coordination to prevent construction violations, waste and waste discharge into the irrigation system. The initiatives contribute to improving management and operation efficiency, extending the lifespan of works, saving costs, improving water shortages in the end of canals and protecting the environment and water resources.

Through professional and trade union activities, Mr. Hung demonstrates the role of an official who both cares about the interests of union members and proactively seeks solutions to improve production efficiency. From 2023 to now, he has been continuously recognized as a Grassroots Emulation Soldier, and has been awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Labor Federation.

For Mr. Hung, recognition comes not only from emulation titles but also through the results of caring for life, protecting rights and creating cohesion between workers and businesses. These contributions also contribute to spreading the emulation movement, affirming the role of the Trade Union organization at the grassroots level.
