Trade unions nurture homes for workers' families
Not only accompanying workers in work, the Trade Union also directs care towards families and children of workers, contributing to sharing worries about life.
Hope for stable life, children are cared for
Ms. Do Thi Huyen - a garment worker in Ha Dong ward (Hanoi) - works about 9 hours a day. Her income is enough to cover essential needs, but saving an extra amount for her children to play and take care of their spiritual life is still not easy.
Busy work makes it difficult for us to take care of our children's spirits. This year, the children have more Mid-Autumn Festival activities organized by the Trade Union, playing, receiving gifts and interacting with friends. We hope that such activities will be maintained so that workers' children have more joy" - Ms. Huyen shared.
According to Ms. Huyen, the Trade Union always pays close attention to the lives of workers. For families with sick relatives, children facing health problems or arising difficulties, timely support partly helps them reduce pressure.
Activities for workers' families are also maintained at many times of the year. From gifts for holidays, Tet, International Children's Day to Mid-Autumn Festival, gifts for workers' children help families have more conditions to take care of their children's spiritual lives.
Many workers also expect the Trade Union to continue to play a good role in connecting, receiving and reflecting issues arising at the workplace.
A support for workers to feel secure in their work
Talking to reporters, Mr. Le Dinh Hung - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi City Labor Federation - said that caring for workers is carried out regularly, not only focusing on holidays and Tet.
In addition to direct support activities, the Trade Union also participates in protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers.
The Trade Union not only cares with gifts but also participates in policy contributions, coordinates in building salary scales and collective labor agreements so that workers have better working conditions, wages and benefits" - Mr. Hung said.
Caring activities are also expanded to workers' families, especially children of workers. When families stabilize, workers will have more conditions to feel secure in their work. Difficult cases, families with upheavals or children having health problems also need to be grasped to have appropriate support.
From the workplace to family life, the companionship of the Trade Union is expected to help workers have more support when facing difficulties, and at the same time create conditions for them to stabilize their lives and stick with their jobs for a long time.
