Trade union provides legal support to help dozens of workers who are owed wages and insurance to claim their rights
Dong Nai Trade Union is supporting dozens of workers at Xanh Product Garment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. who are owed wages and insurance.
Employees are owed salaries for June and July 2026
Ms. Ngo Thi Ngoc B. (46 years old, residing in KP5, Trang Dai ward, Dong Nai city) has been working for Xanh Garment Products Production Co., Ltd. for more than 1 year with a basic salary of 8 million VND/month. Accordingly, the monthly salary will be paid on the 10th of each month, but by the appointment date, the company has not yet fully paid the salary for June and July 2026 to Ms. B.
On August 7, workers stopped working and requested the company to pay the salary for June and July 2026 and pay full social insurance. After that, functional agencies intervened and the company committed to pay Ms. B no later than August 15, but on September 23, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Ms. B said that the company had not paid her salary in full.
Ms. B also filed a petition to the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Nai City, requesting mediation of labor disputes but failed. After that, Ms. B contacted the Legal Consulting Center of the Trade Union of Dong Nai City Labor Federation to support her in filing a lawsuit, requesting the Court to resolve, forcing the company to pay the outstanding salary for June and July 2026 with a total amount of nearly 23 million VND. Ms. B shared: The company's salary debt has caused her family many difficulties due to having to worry about daily food expenses, tuition fees for her children just entering the new school year...
Similarly, Ms. L.T. Q (51 years old, residing in Tan Trieu ward, Dong Nai city) also said that the company is still short of salary for June and July 2026, totaling more than 12 million VND. This amount, although not large, is very necessary for her and her family to cover daily living expenses. The case of Ms. B and Ms. Q is one of dozens of workers of Xanh Garment Products Production Co., Ltd. (Trang Dai ward, Bien Hoa city) who are facing difficulties.
Functional agencies get involved to ensure the rights of workers
On August 7, the Trade Union of Trang Dai Ward received feedback from the collective of workers at Xanh Product Garment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and was present to coordinate with the Ward People's Committee and Ward Police to grasp the situation of collective work stoppages of workers and recorded that about 76 workers are focusing on work stoppages.
According to the minutes recording the collective work stoppage on August 7, the company expressed its opinion that it still owes workers' salaries for June and July 2026. In addition, the company also owes workers' social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance contributions. Employee representatives also added that the 2025 leave allowance has not been paid to workers, the 13th month salary is paid at 50% and 50% is still unpaid; at the same time, they requested the company to pay insurance according to regulations so as not to prolong it because it has deducted social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance contributions from workers. Mr. Vu Ngoc Ha - a labor law expert in Dong Nai City - commented: Businesses that have delayed social insurance contributions in the past time have caused great difficulties for workers, causing workers' rights to be "suspended" such as: Not being able to retire, not being able to settle sickness and maternity benefits, workers' rights are disadvantaged. When workers work at other companies, their rights are also affected.
Dong Nai City Labor Federation has promptly directed Trang Dai Ward Trade Union to coordinate with ward functional agencies and the company to resolve and ensure the legitimate and lawful rights of union members and workers. The Trade Union Legal Consulting Center, Dong Nai City Labor Federation has also intervened to support union members and workers with legal procedures to help claim their rights.
