Bac Ninh Trade Union improves practical capacity for trade union officials
On October 14th, the Bac Ninh City Labor Federation organized a conference to train and foster professional skills and trade union activities.
The training conference was organized for a team of full-time trade union officials and officials from affiliated units.
Attending and giving directing speeches at the conference were Mr. Thach Van Chung - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, City Party Committee Member, Chairman of the Bac Ninh City Labor Federation.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Thach Van Chung emphasized that in the context of Bac Ninh being one of the largest electronics industry centers in the country, attracting many foreign-invested enterprises, trade union activities are facing new requirements and challenges.
Diversity in language, culture, business management methods and issues arising in labor relations require trade union officials to constantly learn, improve professional qualifications, bravery and practical skills.
He affirmed that self-study, learning from each other and sharing experiences must become an intrinsic need of each trade union official. Training and fostering work must not only stop at conveying knowledge but must aim at the ability to apply and effectively solve problems arising at the grassroots level.
In particular, the Chairman of the Bac Ninh City Labor Federation requested to promote the spirit of proactiveness, creativity, daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility; encourage good models, effective ways of doing things, and at the same time strengthen coordination and support between officials, units, and clusters of localities in performing tasks.
Regarding the activities of clusters of localities, the comrade requested cluster heads to urgently assign clear people, clear tasks, clear responsibilities, develop plans for organizing activities in accordance with reality, and strictly implement the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee in Notice No. 419-TB/TU dated October 2, 2026.
One of the new points emphasized at the conference is the requirement to link the training results with the actual capacity assessment of officials. Accordingly, after completing the topics, trainees perform a direct situation handling test and an essay summary to show their ability to identify, analyze, forecast and propose solutions to problems arising at the grassroots level.
At the first topic, Mr. Nguyen Khac Dieu - Member of the Executive Committee, Deputy Head of the Industrial Zone Trade Union, Bac Ninh City Labor Federation, conveyed contents on trade union skills to participate in dialogues at the workplace, negotiate, sign and implement collective labor agreements.
The second topic presented by Ms. Tran Thi Chi - Member of the Executive Committee of the City Labor Federation, Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Newwing Co., Ltd., focused on soft skills in handling labor relations at FDI enterprises.
In the third topic, Mr. Ha Minh Vi - Member of the Executive Committee, Chairman of the Nenh Ward Trade Union, exchanged views on the role of grassroots trade unions in participating in implementing democracy regulations at the workplace.
The fourth topic presented by Mr. Ta Van Hieu - Official of the Finance Department of the City Labor Federation, focused on a number of issues to note in implementing, urging, and monitoring the collection and payment of trade union funds and membership fees, contributing to improving the responsibility and efficiency of trade union financial management.
