Speaking at the Festival, General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that exactly 80 years ago, at the first National Cultural Conference, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed "Culture must guide the way for the nation to go".

His teachings set a long-term responsibility, taking the good values of the nation to nurture people, orient lifestyles, behaviors and the path to the country.

The General Secretary and President clearly stated that linking Vietnam Culture Day with the Great National Unity Festival has a profound meaning. It is an opportunity for each person to understand more about their roots, cherish the heritage of their nation, understand and appreciate the culture of their compatriots, and jointly nurture the common values of Vietnamese national cultural heritage in each family, each community, and each individual.

The General Secretary and President acknowledged the contributions of the people of Da Loc hamlet, Chau Thanh commune; of dignitaries, officials, monks, prestigious people and those who are silently preserving heritage and taking care of common affairs.

To make the Festival have a long-lasting spread, the General Secretary and President requested the Party Committee, government, Vietnam Fatherland Front of Vinh Long province and member organizations and people to cultivate the bond between communities, build pride and common responsibility for the homeland after reunification.

The General Secretary and President requested to take care of heritage preservation and transmission, first of all by taking care of those who are holding and practicing heritage; it is necessary to review traditional arts, crafts, and folk knowledge that are at risk of fading to have appropriate preservation measures. Pay attention to supporting artisans in teaching, creating conditions for young people to learn and practice; connecting families, schools, cultural institutions and communities in heritage education.

Regarding Khmer culture, it is necessary to continue to pay attention to the language, writing, performing arts, handicrafts and traditional living spaces; it is necessary to create conditions for the younger generation to understand the value of heritage, have the ability to receive and have a passion to continue.

The General Secretary and President hoped that dignitaries, officials, monks and prestigious people would continue to promote their good influence in moral education, education promotion, mediation, charity activities and connecting communities. The government needs to regularly meet, exchange, respect and create conditions for them to contribute.

Common initiatives between ethnic minorities and religions need to be encouraged, so that solidarity is increasingly deep and sustainable through working together, shared responsibilities.

To continue the festival spirit with practical actions throughout the year, each residential area should choose a number of things that suit their needs and abilities: taking care of a lonely family, helping a young child at risk of dropping out of school, maintaining a cultural teaching class, preserving a relic or a common living space.

On this occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam presented gifts to collectives and representatives of typical families; Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee presented 15 Great Solidarity houses in 2026 to difficult families in Chau Thanh commune.
