General Secretary and President expressed deep gratitude to veteran Party members

Also attending were Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Politburo Member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation Tran Duc Thang; members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of central and Hanoi city departments and agencies.

In this Party Badge awarding ceremony, the Hanoi City Party Committee had 28,291 party members awarded Party Badges with 30 years of Party membership or more (including: 80-year Party Badge with 29 party members, 75-year Party Badge with 8 party members, 70-year Party Badge with 45 party members).

At the ceremony, 31 veteran Party members received 80-year, 75-year and 70-year Party Badges. For Party members who could not attend the ceremony due to health reasons, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee assigned city leaders and communes and wards to award Party Badges at home.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, General Secretary and President To Lam sent greetings, congratulations and expressed his deep gratitude to the veteran Party members.

The General Secretary and President clearly stated that the 80-year, 75-year, and 70-year Party badges awarded to veteran Party members today are an extremely noble reward of the Party. This is a recognition of the lasting milestones of life, a respect and complete honor for the entire process of dedication, striving, sacrifice, and resilience for communist ideals. The Badge on the chest of the shirt is a vivid proof of the steadfast spirit, honor of a communist and the implementation of the steadfast oath under the glorious Party flag from youth.

The General Secretary and President wished and believed that veteran Party members, despite their old age, would continue to promote their prestige, experience, and revolutionary enthusiasm, always being a reliable spiritual support for grassroots Party organizations and authorities; actively contribute heartfelt opinions to build the Party and government at all levels to be increasingly clean and strong.

The General Secretary and President requested the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Fatherland Front and agencies and organizations of Hanoi City to continue to pay special and thoughtful attention both materially and spiritually to the elderly Party members; promptly listen to, cherish and absorb the valuable contributions of previous generations. Caring for and expressing gratitude to revolutionary predecessors is not only faithful and steadfast feelings but also the morality of the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source" and is a sacred political responsibility of the entire City Party Committee.
