Da Nang supports fishing union members affected by boat fire
Da Nang - Da Nang City Labor Federation has promptly visited and provided support of 22 million VND to 8 members of An Hai Fisheries Trade Union who were heavily damaged after the fire.
On November 4th, the Da Nang City Labor Federation promptly visited, encouraged and provided financial support to members of the An Hai Fisheries Union who were heavily affected after the fire that burned down 2 fishing boats in Man Quang Bay.
Previously, on the morning of November 3, a fire suddenly broke out in the waters of Man Quang Bay (Da Nang). Fierce flames caused 2 fishing vessels with registration numbers ĐNa 90863 and ĐNa 91292 to completely burn down the cabin and the entire machinery and technical equipment inside. Initial estimated damage is up to about 700 million VND.
The unexpected incident not only caused great property losses to fishermen but also immediately disrupted offshore fishing activities, directly affecting the jobs, income and family life of 8 union members (including 2 ship owners and 6 crew members working on two vehicles).
In order to share a part of the burden and support union members to cover their immediate lives, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has provided support with a total budget of 22 million VND. In which, supporting 2 union members who are ship owners is 5 million VND each; supporting 6 union members who are fishermen and workers on ships is 2 million VND each.
The timely visit and support activities of the Da Nang City Labor Federation continue to affirm its role as a reliable fulcrum and companion of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers in times of hardship and difficulty; thereby adding more resources and motivation for fishermen to soon repair their vehicles, overcome the consequences, quickly stabilize their lives and continue to firmly steer to reach out to sea and stick to the sea.
