In 2027, cases receiving social allowances of 1.62 million VND/month

From 2027, some elderly people born in 1967 may be entitled to monthly social allowances of up to 1.62 million VND. However, to receive this support, people need to fully meet the conditions according to regulations.

According to Clause 2, Article 4 of Decree 335/2026/ND-CP, the standard social assistance level is regulated at 540,000 VND/month. This is the basis for calculating the monthly social allowance level for eligible groups.

For the elderly, point d, clause 1, Article 6 of Decree 335/2026/ND-CP stipulates the levels of allowances based on age and specific circumstances as follows:

810,000 VND/month: Applied to people from 60 years old to under 75 years old, belonging to poor households, without people with obligations and rights to support or with people supporting them but those people are receiving monthly social allowances. The benefit level is calculated at 540,000 VND x a coefficient of 1.5.

1,080,000 VND/month: Applied to people aged 75 and over, belonging to poor households and meeting the conditions for caregivers mentioned above. The benefit level is calculated as 540,000 VND x coefficient 2.

1,620,000 VND/month: Applied to elderly people from poor households, without people with obligations and rights to support, without living conditions in the community and eligible to be admitted to social assistance facilities but with people receiving care and nurturing in the community. The benefit level is calculated as 540,000 VND x coefficient 3.

Thus, from 2027, people born in 1967 (full 60 years old) can receive an allowance of 1.62 million VND/month if they simultaneously fully meet the following conditions:

Being a Vietnamese citizen from 60 years old or older.

Belonging to a poor household.

No one has the obligation and right to support.

Do not have living conditions in the community and are eligible to be admitted to social assistance facilities.

Some people adopt and care for them in the community.

It should be noted that not all people born in 1967 receive this allowance. People must fully meet the criteria for age, economic circumstances and care conditions as prescribed.

Regarding the level of enjoyment in the locality, Clause 3, Article 4 of Decree 335/2026/ND-CP stipulates that the Provincial People's Committee can submit to the People's Council of the same level to decide on the standard level of social assistance and the level of social assistance higher than the general level, if the locality has sufficient socio-economic conditions.

Regarding procedures for receiving allowances, beneficiaries or guardians need to prepare a declaration requesting social allowance and social pension allowance according to regulations and carry out procedures at a competent authority in the locality. People should prepare complete information and documents proving their circumstances and conditions for enjoyment so that the review is convenient and avoids affecting their rights.
