Prime Minister Le Minh Hung receives new task
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung is the Head of the Central Steering Committee for implementing the National Target Program on socio-cultural, rural, ethnic and mountainous development.
Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung has just signed Decision No. 1966/QD-TTg dated October 12, 2026 on the establishment of the Central Steering Committee for implementing the National Target Program for socio-cultural, rural, ethnic and mountainous development in the period 2026-2035.
The decision clearly states: Establishment of the Central Steering Committee for implementing the National Target Program on socio-cultural, rural, ethnic and mountainous development in the period 2026-2035, including the following members:
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung becomes Head of the Central Steering Committee.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung is the Standing Deputy Head of the Committee.
The Deputy Heads include: Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra; Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang; Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau.
Standing Committee Members: Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung; Minister of Finance Ngo Van Tuan; Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Lam Thi Phuong Thanh; Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan; Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion Nguyen Dinh Khang.

The Central Steering Committee is an inter-sectoral coordinating organization, assisting the Government and the Prime Minister in directing, coordinating and handling common, important, and inter-sectoral issues in organizing the implementation of the National Target Program for socio-cultural, rural, ethnic and mountainous development in the 2026-2035 period.
The Steering Committee has the following tasks and powers: Directing and coordinating between ministries, central agencies, localities and relevant agencies and organizations in organizing the implementation of the program; urging the implementation of goals, targets, and tasks; directing and coordinating the handling according to their authority or proposing competent authorities to handle common, important, inter-sectoral or beyond their authority issues; directing coordination in monitoring, inspecting, supervising, evaluating, summarizing, and summarizing the implementation of the program.
