Closely coordinate and promote propaganda about the great friendship between Vietnam and Laos

In the late afternoon of November 2nd, in Hanoi, within the framework of his official visit to Vietnam, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Lao People's Democratic Republic Sonexay Siphandone received the Central Delegation of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association led by Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture and Social Affairs, Chairman of the Association, to pay a courtesy visit.

At the reception, the Chairman of the Lao National Assembly requested the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association and the Lao - Vietnam Friendship Association to continue to closely coordinate, promote propaganda about the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic linkage between Vietnam and Laos, especially on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

Regarding the preparation for the 2027 anniversary activities, Lao National Assembly Chairman Sonexay Siphandone said that the Lao side has a national-level Steering Committee, coordinating with the Vietnamese side to organize anniversary activities. The activities of the two Friendship Associations will be implemented within the framework of the common anniversary program of the two countries.

On the Vietnamese side, Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association Nguyen Dac Vinh affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always deeply understand that the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless asset of the two nations, a strategically important factor for the revolutionary cause of each country.

Preserving, consolidating and promoting this special relationship is the common responsibility of all levels, sectors, organizations and people of the two countries, including people's foreign affairs organizations.

The National Assemblies of the two countries play an important role in promoting cooperative relations, through delegation exchanges, high-level contacts, sharing experiences in law-making and supervision, contributing to bringing the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Laos into depth and effectiveness.

Chairman of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association Nguyen Dac Vinh said that the two Associations always receive close attention and direction from the leaders of the two Parties and two States.

In 2027, the two Associations will closely coordinate with agencies and organizations of the two countries to organize commemorative activities; promote propaganda about Vietnam - Laos relations.

Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh wished that the two Associations would soon develop a coordination plan, unify the content of activities to report to the leaders of the two Parties and two States.

Highly appreciating the results of coordination between the two Associations in the past time, Lao National Assembly Chairman Sonexay Siphandone agreed with the direction of work set out by Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh; requested the two Associations to continue to organize practical activities to strengthen the close relationship between the people of the two countries, expressing their desire to welcome the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association Delegation to visit Laos in 2027.
