Improving occupational safety and health skills for Vinh Long workers
Vinh Long - The Excellent Safety and Hygiene Officer Contest contributes to improving knowledge, practical skills and preventing labor accidents for workers.
On October 11, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) organized the 1st Excellent Safety and Hygiene Officer Contest in 2026, with 14 teams and 96 contestants participating. The teams went through 3 parts of the competition including self-introduction, legal knowledge and practical operations for handling incidents and first aid.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Dung - Vice President of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - emphasized that occupational safety and health are important tasks, directly related to protecting the lives and health of workers.
Ms. Dung added that each workplace accident that occurs not only causes damage to the health and lives of workers but also seriously affects families, businesses and the whole society.
According to the leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation, the contest aims to raise awareness and practical skills for the team of safety and hygiene workers, promote the consolidation of the network and spread safety culture in the workplace.
As a contestant participating in the contest, Mr. Nguyen Hong Khit - a worker at Furukawa Automotive Systems Vinh Long Vietnam Co., Ltd. - shared that the contest brings many practical meanings to workers.
Mr. Khit expressed that if an accident occurs, it will seriously affect the health of workers, disrupt the progress of general work, affect the psychology of colleagues and, above all, directly affect family income.
Therefore, mastering knowledge and skills through the contest helps workers proactively prevent risks, protect themselves as well as colleagues in the daily production process.
The contest is an opportunity for units to exchange, learn experiences, and spread good solutions to build a safe, civilized and sustainable working environment.
At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded the First, Second, Third and Consolation prizes to the teams with outstanding achievements at the contest.
