Cao Bang trains 210 trade union officials in professional skills

On October 27 and 28, the Cao Bang Provincial Labor Federation organized a professional training conference on trade union work in 2026.

Attending were 210 delegates who are chairmen, vice chairmen, members of the executive committee of grassroots trade unions, affiliated grassroots trade unions and officials in charge of finance, inspection, and supervision at the grassroots level.

The conference focused on 5 topics including the implementation of the Charter of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the resolution of the trade union congress; management of finances and trade union assets; inspection and supervision; trade unions participating in implementing democracy at the grassroots level and building labor relations; occupational safety and health and related regimes and policies.

Delegates are guided on professional skills in managing and developing union members; managing revenue, expenditure, finalization and financial disclosure; inspecting the compliance with the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union, and resolving petitions according to their authority.

Contents related to workers' rights such as organizing employee conferences, dialogues, negotiations, signing and implementing collective labor agreements were also discussed at the conference.

Besides, there are regulations on occupational accident and disease insurance and the responsibility of trade unions in supervising the implementation of policies and preventing occupational accidents.

During the training process, delegates discussed, shared experiences and exchanged difficulties in organizational work, labor relations, finance, inspection and supervision at agencies, units, and businesses.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Ms. Hoang Thi Lam - Vice President of the Cao Bang Provincial Labor Federation - requested trade union officials to apply the knowledge they have been trained in practice; pay attention to developing union members, improving the quality of activities and proactively grasping the thoughts and aspirations of workers.

Ms. Lam also requested grassroots trade unions and professional unions to effectively implement dialogue, collective bargaining, financial management, inspection, supervision and participation in ensuring labor safety and hygiene.

Opinions and recommendations at the conference are assigned to specialized departments to summarize, advise, guide, and support grassroots levels in the process of task implementation.
