Image production industry and the problem of choosing the right job
The image manufacturing industry requires adaptability, experience accumulation, and job choice that suits your abilities.
Change the environment to expand career experience
In the context of increasingly developed society, the demand for image content, advertising and communication is constantly increasing, making this field attract a large number of young workers.
However, with the specific nature of working on projects and diverse professional requirements, many people choose to change the environment to accumulate experience, expand experiences and find suitable development directions.
Attached to the image and media production industry for about 5 years, Pham Duc Quan (Hanoi) currently holds the job of Line Producer (Scenary Production/ Production Management) and Producer Assistant (Production Assistant).
According to Quan, the specific nature of working on projects makes cooperation with many production units become popular. Sharing about the reasons for considering changing jobs, Quan said that his biggest desire is to try his hand at new types of production to continuously improve professional capacity.
When I get used to the fast pace, the exact requirement of every second of advertising films, I want to expand to short films to train storytelling thinking and more in-depth personnel management skills. With documentaries, it is a challenge in terms of improvisation, sensitivity and ability to work in the field environment," Quan shared.

Also working in the field of image production and communication, Nguyen Quang Huy (Hanoi) believes that evaluating whether a job is suitable or not needs to be based on both current capacity and long-term development goals.
I often assess suitability in two dimensions. In terms of competence, a suitable job is a place where you can use about 70-80% of your available ability to complete tasks, the remaining 20-30% is space for learning and development," Huy shared.

According to Huy, job transfer helps production workers expand relationships, accumulate experience and improve adaptability. However, constantly changing environments can also make it difficult for them to build prestige and personal imprint.
Understand the ability to choose a direction
According to Mr. Do Ngoc Son - Director of ST Lighthouse Soft Skills Academy, young people may be dissatisfied with the job because they have not identified the right field and suitable position. In the image production industry, each type of project requires its own skills, from organization, progress control to storytelling thinking and improvisation skills.

Mr. Son suggested that young people can refer to the Ikigai model (philosophy of seeking purpose and meaning in life of Japanese people) to determine their career direction.
Accordingly, each person needs to consider the job they love, the job they are capable of doing, and the job that can bring income and meet personal expectations," Mr. Son said.
Applying to the field of image production, young people need to self-assess whether they are suitable for content creation, production management, editing or project management. Loving filmmaking does not necessarily mean being suitable for every position in a production team.
Besides, Mr. Son believes that the working environment is also a factor to consider when choosing to stick with a unit or company. Before deciding to change jobs, young people, especially in the image production industry, need to clearly recognize the reasons why they are not satisfied.
