126 Kaizen initiatives profit 12 billion VND for the Maritime industry

Emulation associated with production and business tasks

Mr. Mai Le Loi - Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines said that trade union levels have implemented many practical emulation movements, associated with production and business, contributing to improving the lives of workers and promoting business development.

Not stopping at launching, the movements are concretized by tasks and targets suitable for each unit and each labor group. Thereby, promoting workers to promote initiatives, technical improvements, technology application, digital transformation, practice thrift, contributing to improving the competitiveness of enterprises.

The effectiveness of the emulation movement is shown through specific projects, products and initiatives at the grassroots level.

At Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company, the emulation movement launched by the Corporation's Trade Union has created a strong spread in the workforce.

Mr. To Dinh Son - Chairman of the Trade Union of Hai Phong Port Joint Stock Company informed that the unit has 126 Kaizen initiatives registered, 25 completed projects and products, bringing about a profit value of about 12 billion VND.

Along with economic value, the movement also contributes to affirming the role, intelligence and creativity of workers in the process of participating in building and developing businesses. Many collectives and individuals at the unit were praised and rewarded by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines" - Mr. To Dinh Son said.

Across the entire Corporation, commendation work is focused on being carried out promptly and to the right people, prioritizing direct employees. In the period 2021 - 2025, the Corporation's Trade Union has commended more than 1,320 collectives and individuals with a total budget of nearly 2.6 billion VND. Many typical collectives and individuals have been recognized and honored by the State, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and levels with noble titles and forms of commendation.

To make the emulation movement develop sustainably, the Corporation's Trade Union also identified improving the quality of human resources as an important task. In the period 2021 - 2025, tens of thousands of workers participated in training and fostering programs on expertise, professional skills, vocational skills, foreign languages and information technology. Training forms are organized flexibly, from direct to online, long-term and short-term, suitable for each target group and production conditions.

The VSUP Project alone has trained nearly 260 courses with a total of more than 1,800 students who are Vietnamese officers and sailors, focusing on English majoring in Maritime and short-term professional courses on decks and machines. Every year, about 60% of female workers participate in various types of training, coaching, professional development, skills, foreign languages and skills.

Innovation in emulation, creating growth momentum

Before the development requirements in the new period, Mr. Mai Le Loi said that the Trade Union of Vietnam National Shipping Lines determined to continue to promote the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income", the Innovation movement, Kaizen practice and digital transformation. The focus is on improving labor productivity, implementing corporate culture, improving work efficiency and social responsibility.

The action spirit "Raising efficiency - Breakthrough to reach further" is identified as a consistent message, aiming to create strong changes in labor productivity, human resource quality and business operational efficiency.

Along with launching emulation, trade union levels will promote digital skills, vocational skills, and foreign languages training, helping workers adapt to job requirements in the new period.
