Lao Cai - Vocational training associated with recruitment needs, loan support and job connection is opening up more opportunities to increase income for workers.
Diverse vocational training opportunities, job search
In Bao Thang commune, vocational training, counseling and job introduction are implemented in line with the actual needs of workers.
According to the results of task implementation in the locality, the rate of trained workers reached 79.7%, equal to 100.89% of the provincially assigned plan. The rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates reached 46%, equal to 131.43% of the provincially assigned plan and completed the commune's striving plan.
Bao Thang Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center coordinates and links with training institutions to organize enrollment for many majors such as industrial electrical engineering, corporate accounting, restaurant and hotel nghiệp vụ, food processing and beverage mixing techniques.

Diversifying training occupations helps people have more choices suitable for their level, personal conditions and recruitment needs.
Along with vocational training, direct support policies on employment are being implemented. In the first 9 months of the year, Bao Thang commune recorded job creation results reaching 224 people, equivalent to 99.6% of the plan.
The locality has 24 people borrowing capital from the National Employment Fund, with a total amount of about 650 million VND.
Activities to send workers to work abroad under contract continue to be concerned.
The commune coordinates with businesses to provide recruitment information and introduce work programs abroad, including the need to recruit nursing staff and caregivers in Japan under the EPA Program.
The labor structure has also gradually shifted to non-agricultural occupations. Locally, some workers have switched to garment and electronic component assembly.
Propaganda on occupational safety and health, prevention of labor accidents and occupational diseases is also emphasized, especially for workers working without contracts.
Connecting training with recruitment needs
Across the province, in the first 9 months of 2026, 7,851 workers found jobs through socio-economic development programs; 9,546 workers were supported from loans from the National Employment Fund.
In addition, 1,105 people went to work abroad under contract and 8,662 workers were provided and introduced to jobs outside the province.
The above results show that many support channels are being implemented to expand job opportunities, from creating jobs on the spot, supporting production and business capital to connecting workers with labor markets outside the province and abroad.
According to Mr. Pham Tuan Chung - Deputy Director of Lao Cai Provincial Department of Home Affairs, local authorities need to improve their responsibility in labor management, proactively grasp people's job needs to build solutions suitable to actual conditions.
Leaders of the Department of Home Affairs also emphasized strengthening the connection between management agencies, training institutions and businesses, ensuring consulting, job introduction and vocational training activities associated with recruitment needs.
Information about the labor market, especially job opportunities abroad under contract, needs to be provided transparently so that people can proactively learn, choose and avoid risks.

In Bao Thang commune, the poverty rate decreased in 2026 reaching 0.49%, completing the provincially assigned plan and the commune's striving plan; the remaining poverty rate is 1.11%.
In the coming time, improving the quality of vocational training, strengthening recruitment connections and supporting workers to access employment policies will continue to be important solutions to expand job opportunities, increase income and stabilize livelihoods for people.
