Hanoi is recruiting bustlingly, warning of the easy job trap with high salaries
Recruitment demand in Hanoi is increasing at the end of the year, but workers need to be wary of easy job offers, high salaries, and pre-deposit requirements.
Recruitment demand is concentrated in the service and manufacturing groups
Labor market data for September 2026 from the Hanoi Employment Service Center shows that businesses in the area have a need to recruit about 40,000 job positions.
Through surveys and information gathering on 11,311 recruitment targets belonging to 2,557 vacant job information at the Center, the group of other service activities, wholesale and retail accounted for a total of 59.9% of the recruitment demand. The processing, manufacturing and construction industry group ranked next, accounting for 24.1%. The fields of health and social support, real estate business, accommodation and catering services, finance - banking, education - training also continue to generate human resource demand.
Ms. Do Huyen Trang, human resources specialist of Arcadyan Technology Co., Ltd. (Vietnam), said that the enterprise is in need of recruiting 400 unskilled workers for the position of production workers. For the positions of technicians, English and Chinese interpreters, the enterprise is still short of about 100 workers.
The end of the year is also the time when many festivals take place, the number of orders is large, so businesses must promote recruitment to meet demand. We prioritize young personnel with good attitudes; in terms of skills, workers will be systematically trained," Ms. Trang said.
Similarly, Mr. Dang Tung Anh, Deputy Head of Project Business Department of FIS Mechanical and Electrical Co., Ltd., said that the company is accelerating recruitment with candidates aged 18-60. Young workers are prioritized in positions that require technology and foreign language skills; while people with a lot of experience are considered for positions requiring high skills or management level.
According to Mr. Tung Anh, young candidates have advantages in health, quick adaptability and sensitivity, while middle-aged workers have advantages in experience and stability in work.
Be wary of easy, high-paying job offers
Wishing to find a part-time job at home to cover living expenses, N.H. A, a second-year student at a university in Hanoi, applied for a job making handicrafts according to recruitment information on the internet. According to the introduction, workers can receive materials home for processing and are paid 1 million VND for a certain quantity of products.
I was asked to deposit 40% of the wages to receive materials. About two days after receiving the materials, I texted to confirm with the recruiter and discovered that my contact had been blocked," shared N.H. A.
Although the amount is not too large, the above case shows that invitations to work at home with simple requirements and attractive wages still contain risks. Taking advantage of the need to earn extra income of students and workers, subjects may offer non-transparent job acceptance conditions, including the requirement to deposit before starting work.
According to Mr. Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center, one of the common mistakes of job seekers is easily believing in jobs with simple requirements but offering unusually high salaries. Some subjects take advantage of the psychology of wanting quick jobs and good incomes to post inaccurate recruitment information, causing damage to workers.
To limit risks, employees need to check the name, address, and field of operation of the enterprise; clearly understand the tasks, working hours, salaries and related regimes. For invitations requesting money transfer, fee payment or deposit before starting work, it is necessary to carefully verify information and transaction conditions," Mr. Thanh emphasized.
Representatives of the Center also recommend that employees fully understand information about the recruitment position, rights and responsibilities of the parties before signing the contract. When detecting abnormal signs, job seekers should stop transactions, save evidence and verify information through official channels.
