From recommendations on unpaid salaries to cases of enterprises owing salaries and social insurance, Hai Phong City Trade Union levels promptly intervened to protect the rights of workers.

Timely protection of workers' rights

Thuy Nguyen Ward Trade Union has just supported Ms. N.T. H (36 years old, Hai Phong) to claim her salary after quitting her job. Ms. H worked as a sales accountant at a service company from March 2026, with a salary of 7 million VND/month. On August 19, Ms. H quit her job after being approved by the company but had not been paid her 8th month salary. On October 23, she sent a petition asking the Trade Union to intervene.

After receiving feedback, the Thuy Nguyen Ward Trade Union proactively worked with the enterprise, requesting to fully resolve the rights of employees. Thanks to the timely intervention of the Trade Union organization, on October 29th, Ms. H was paid the remaining salary for August 2026 by the company. "The timely care and support of the local trade union has helped me solve the backlog of salaries and increase my trust in the Trade Union organization" - Ms. H shared.

Previously, in September 2026, Hai Phong Trade Union levels coordinated with functional agencies to resolve a similar case of 18 seasonal workers of T.A.P MARINE Co., Ltd.

According to workers' reflections, from April to June 2026, the enterprise has not paid a total salary of nearly 700 million VND. Unable to contact employers, workers have sent petitions to functional agencies requesting intervention.

Hai Phong City Labor Federation coordinated with Khanh Hoa Provincial Labor Federation to work with businesses. Tien Lang Commune People's Committee also directed the Commune Police to coordinate in verifying the case. As a result, 18 workers were paid the remaining salary.

Supporting labor situation stabilization

Hai Phong City Labor Federation also promptly supported workers who lost their jobs and owed wages. At Mecalium Co., Ltd. (Mao Dien commune), 146 workers were delayed in paying their salaries from June to September 2026, with a total amount of about 2.89 billion VND. The fact that businesses owe wages and social insurance causes difficulties for many workers, especially ethnic minorities, single mothers and people with serious illnesses.

Mao Dien Commune Trade Union has worked with business leaders, requesting full and timely payment of salaries and benefits to workers, avoiding collective work stoppages; fulfilling the obligation to pay trade union dues and proactively informing functional agencies when encountering difficulties in production and business.

Before the proposal of the Commune Trade Union, on September 14, the enterprise contacted employees to confirm salary arrears, social insurance and related regimes; and at the same time resolved the termination of labor contracts for those who need to find jobs elsewhere.

Recently, the City Labor Federation decided to provide emergency allowances to 54 union members in difficult circumstances of Mecalium Co., Ltd. with a total amount of 108 million VND. At the same time, continue to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers, promptly coordinate with functional agencies to solve arising problems, and ensure workers' rights.

Especially in the last months of the year, Trade Union levels proactively grasp the situation of labor relations, job and income fluctuations at enterprises to promptly detect and resolve arising issues, and limit labor disputes.
