General Secretary and President To Lam receives the noble Order of the Kingdom of Denmark

Within the framework of the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to the Kingdom of Denmark, on the morning of October 19 (local time), Danish King Frederik X awarded General Secretary and President To Lam the Elephant Medal - the highest order of Denmark awarded to members of the Royal Family and heads of state of foreign countries, according to VNA.

Moved to receive the Elephant Medal, General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his wish to dedicate this great honor to the Vietnamese people, to generations of Vietnamese and Danish people who have laid the foundation and cultivated friendship over the past 55 years, and to the Vietnamese and Danish people today who are continuing their journey, bringing the relations between the two countries into a new chapter of development.

General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that the Order awarded by the King will always remind of the precious feelings and friendship that the Royal Family and people of Denmark have for Vietnam, as well as the responsibility to inherit and promote the heritage that many generations of the two countries have built together.

The fact that King Frederik X awarded the Elephant Medal on the occasion of the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam to Denmark, on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1971 - 2026), has profound political and diplomatic significance, showing respect for General Secretary and President To Lam and the Danish Royal Family's appreciation for relations with Vietnam.

Over 55 years of establishing diplomatic relations, Vietnam and Denmark have built a solid friendship and cooperation relationship, from traditional development partnerships to the Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023. The awarding of the Elephant Medal during this visit contributes to honoring that cooperation journey, while strengthening the attachment between the leaders and people of the two countries.
