At the Heroic Monument in Denmark, General Secretary and President To Lam and King Frederik X reviewed the Guard of Honor.

According to VNA, within the framework of the State visit to the Kingdom of Denmark, on the morning of October 19 (local time), General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with King Frederik X and Queen Mary of Denmark, paid flower wreaths at the Monument to Heroes located within the Kastellet Fortress, Copenhagen capital.

The Heroic Monument project expresses the gratitude of the Danish state and people to those who have participated, contributed and sacrificed in international missions since 1948.

Here, General Secretary and President To Lam and King Frederik X reviewed the Guard of Honor. After the solemn wreath-laying ceremony in front of the Monument, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife Ngo Phuong Ly, along with King Frederik X and Queen Mary, observed a minute of silence to commemorate those who sacrificed themselves while performing international duties of Denmark.

In 2007, the Danish Government decided to build a Monument to Heroes to recognize the contributions and sacrifices of soldiers, police and staff of state agencies participating in international missions since 1948.

The Heroic Monument was inaugurated in 2011, mainly built of granite. This is a venue for commemorative activities, laying wreaths of the Royal Family, Government, and Danish army; and at the same time open to the public to visit and commemorate those who have contributed to international peace, security and relief activities.
