Prime Minister of the Principality of Liechtenstein Brigitte Haas arrived in Hanoi, beginning an official visit to Vietnam from October 17-19, at the invitation of Prime Minister Le Minh Hung.
On the evening of October 17th, Prime Minister of the Principality of Liechtenstein Brigitte Haas arrived in Hanoi, beginning an official visit to Vietnam from October 17th to 19th, at the invitation of Politburo Member, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Minh Hung, according to VNA.
Liechtenstein and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on July 2, 2008. In 2025, bilateral trade turnover reached about 9.8 million USD. Of which, Vietnam's exports to Liechtenstein reached about 0.09 million USD, imports reached about 9.71 million USD. Liechtenstein has 1 direct investment project in Vietnam still valid with a total registered capital of 4 million USD.
Answering an interview with VNA reporters in Geneva about the meaning of the visit as well as the prospects of relations between the two countries in the coming time, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Swiss Confederation concurrently serving as Duke of Liechtenstein Chau Mai Anh said that the first official visit of Liechtenstein Prime Minister Brigitte Haas to Vietnam is an important milestone, showing Liechtenstein's importance to Vietnam, and creating more momentum to bring bilateral relations into depth, substance and efficiency.
The time of the visit is also very favorable, as Vietnam and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) have just concluded negotiations on the Free Trade Agreement in July 2026. This will be an important framework to continue expanding economic relations between Vietnam and Liechtenstein and EFTA countries, creating more favorable conditions for trade, investment and business connection.
Also according to the Ambassador, this visit may also open up new directions for cooperation, in which Liechtenstein businesses connect with Vietnamese businesses in high-tech industry, precision engineering, automation, digital transformation and innovation.
